Maybe I’m dumb, or was just tired, but after comparing a few items very similar to the one pictured here (hot plate/stirrer) for around the same price ($40), or even less, I assumed thats what I was buying, not just an expensive thermometer, which is usually included with the stirrers I saw. It might be well worth it, but not for my purposes. I’m no scientist, unless maybe a mad one—more of a dabbler. I don't need a $40 temperature probe.If they just changed the main photo to show the actual item, that would have saved me the trouble of a return. They only need to crop out the stirrer/hot plate.

This probe works well for most applications, but high concentrations of heated acid will go right through it. Currently looking for other options, but if this company sold something more durable, I'd totally buy it!
