[ Japanese limited item ] AJISHIO, Japanese Popular "UMAMI-Salt", one-touch bottle,60g [Made in Japan, Ship From Japan]

This is msg-salt which is designed to enhance the flavor of many foods over the application of ordinary salt.I bought two of these as stocking stuffers (gifts).Bought a very similar bottle of 110 grams at Lotte Plaza (Asian grocery store) at least ten - maybe fifteen years ago, but then it disappeared and this wasn't available anywhere. It reappeared here on Amazon in 2017 but in a smaller bottle - 60 grams - and I bought one as a gift. Then it disappeared again. Now it's back, but for how long?Happily, you really only need one bottle because the bottle can be refilled. The original bottle I bought at Lotte Plaza says "MSG Coated Salt" on the front in English. On the back it says "Monosodium Glutamate 10%, Salt 90%." It is made by a company called AJINOMOTO.It seems apparent to me that this is exactly the same product, but in a smaller yet identical bottle.It's nice because the bottle is made of glass with a blue plastic top. It shakes the ajishio out just like a salt shaker. The top can be opened or closed easily with one finger which keeps humidity out of the bottle. The fact that the print on this product is completely in Kanji makes it more authentic, except that the print is only on the clear plastic wrapper. Unlike the original larger bottle I have, this glass bottle has no print on it, it's just plain clear glass. The bottle is attractive and would look good on a kitchen table. When I refill it, I just add 10% msg and 90% table salt, mix it around, and refill the bottle. I suspect that it is almost as good as "msg coated salt."
