Hot Wheelsid Knight Rider K.I.T.T.

I grew up watching Knight Rider and although I didn’t really retain much content from the show itself, I was intrigued and awed by this car that could talk and was chock-full of tech. I knew this was a must-have addition to my collection. Without opening the package, the level of detail on this car is great— lines are clean, lights and painted, interior looks great, everything looks amazing and true to the original car in a scaled down version. It really is cool to look at.I generally love Hot Wheels ID cars because of their intricate detail compared to traditional Hot Wheels cars. If you’re unfamiliar, Hot Wheels ID cars are Mattel’s push into the tech realm— each car is outfitted with an nfc (near-field communication) Bluetooth transmitter (The cars themselves do not require batteries— think ‘Touchless Credit Card technology’) allowing characteristics and details of the car’s “performance” to be stored and shared with a Hot wheels ID Portal (used to add Hot wheels ID function to conventional track sets) or Smart track set (self contained Hot Wheels ID track system). The information is then shared or uploaded to your iOS/ Android app for scale speed and number of laps on the track.

The box looks and feels lovely. Now only if I didn't have a thing for keeping the collection mint. This is my first "id" car, and a 13th "HW Screen Time" vehicle. The Hot Wheels arrived before time and in perfect condition; and from what I can see through the window, it looks good too. Can't wait to stumble upon another K.I.T.T., so I may crack open one and race it while the second stays in its box or blister pack, depending on how the "id" technic tickles my fancy (or not)! However it ends up, the boxed Hot Wheels really pops out of the decent enough 1:64 die-cast collection.

Arrived in prestine condition. On time .The item itself is awesome. Detailed paint and presented simply in a box with transparent panels.

This is a good replica. Love that the interior is tan and it has a California KNIGHT plate, just like in the show. I understand some people are a little baffled at its dark gray color, but these id cars have purposely been put out in different shades to distinguish them from the regular hot wheels cars. Would love to see a K.A.R.R. version.
