The color is charcoal, not silver or black.

Q: Does the air come through easily

It is good quality screen. In my opinion air flow is quite good while keeping insects out both large and small.

Q: Is this strong enough for a medium sized kitty cat to climb?

no a cat would claw it up and rip the screen.

Q: Is the screen heavy duty, I got some screen at walmart and it was not very strong and would rip easily.

It is "normal" weight screen as found in most all screen windows. Nothing particularly heavy or light.
