Grip Feel, Balance and Blade my new carry folder.
I have long been a fan of S.A.K. however, I have XXL hands so normally carry a fixed blade too when out in the woods. Will probably continue this practice anyway, however, the SwissChamp I normally carry will be replaced with this one. The Champ will still ride in my vehicle, but not my backpack. I don't have to worry about slipping and slicing my finger with this RangerGrip! It's big enough, contoured just right and I like the way they put some ridging on the back of the "one handed opening" piece on the blade. This is really noticeable when wearing gloves. More control. This knife has a bigger blade, and a really useful shape that locks in place - something I appreciate a lot. Furthermore, this is a saw that is still the legendary Swiss Army Knife Saw yet it is appreciably longer than the one on regular sized S.A.K. knives. This translates to larger pieces that one can effectively cut with it. The wife is laughing at me sawing away at bushes and small tree limbs in the back yard that I would normally get the saws-all out to handle. It's slower, true, but cutting through them so effectively with this knife is just a lot of fun.S.A.K. still has the best can opener going, and I still use one in the kitchen, I am nearly as fast as the electric one she insisted on buying. Am still waiting to discover a non-twist off bottle cap in the US, but it is a good screwdriver. The awl/punch is useful for tons of things bushcrafting.I selected the straight blade because I am not a fan of serrated unless I am on a sailboat where I may have to cut large cordage. When sailing I carry my Victorinox 53664 Helmsman that is also available on Amazon. This leads me to my last important point - the corkscrew model instead of the Phillips Head model.I have never, in over 50 years of camping, needed a Phillips Head in the woods. The corkscrew not only opens wine bottles - it works as a GREAT marlinspike for small to say, 3/8" rope to get pesky, tight knots loosened up. There are probably other uses for it besides wine, but that is what I have needed it for plenty of times. One's camping companions are not always good with tying knots, and you generally don't discover this until time to break camp. Better to show them how to get that horrible knot loose than cut the cord and have to jury rig something at the next campsite. I don't understand the recent release of the US Army model, which is essentially a RangerGrip without the tweezers and toothpick. Gads! I seldom get splinters since I decided to wear good gloves, but trail mix and other things get between my teeth constantly. How does one handle this without a toothpick?I did add one thing. Those nifty little eyeglass screwdrivers that slot in to the corkscrew sell in three packs for nearly nothing, weigh nothing, and if you have one on the trail when someone is losing their screw on the glasses they depend on, you are the hero. Even if they are your own glasses. I have them on all the S.A.K. with corkscrew that I own, and they have come in handy in urban and rural settings with about equal frequency.I did order the cloth sheath for this knife. It is a tad large for my already crowded pocket. If you are more disciplined than I on what you put in your pocket this will likely work just fine.

Excellent quality, as usual
This is a very sturdy folding knife. I got this version for my EDC survival pack. The saw was the deciding factor. It's very sharp and cuts through wood like a champ. I was able to sharpen the blade to a razor edge. It has a very nice heft and has all the important features of a multi-purpose knife.

This is a big one😂
FIRST GLANCE...Pros. I have big hands, so size is great . Weight is almost Buck 110 territory, Ill get a suitable belt sheath, I don't care. I carried Cold Steel for decades. More functional than a 110 in the outdoors for more things you may need when camping. Big saw, HOOYAH! No pretty shiny scales to scratch up in your pocketCons..blade is not completely sharpened all the way to the ricasso. I assume this is a safety feature for those who aren't aware they have digits. It will sharpen out over time anyway. I prefer scissors and a small blade on SAKs but hey that's what a Fieldmaster is for. I wouldn't baton with it, but I don't baton folders to begin with . Ill watch a couple Felix Immler videos and put a straight pin under the corkscrew , and get the micro screwdriver when I get a sheath, after my evaluation is done So basically I gave it such high praise because its a Vic, does what it says it'll do, and the stuff that lacks I will "mod up" . Great knife, great service and delivery time. $52 isn't too much to ask for this monster. I will edit and or return in 30 days if a problem arises, but I doubt it

It’s a Victorinox
A very solid enlarged multitool with quality I would expect from Victorinox. Having a large locking blade that can be opened with one hand is a nice feature. The one handed opening is a little awkward compared to single layer knives, and takes a little getting used to. The release button to unlock needs really deliberate action. The Saw is nice and a more functional size than on the more traditional Victorinox knives. A locking feature here may have been useful as well. The onboard tool set is pretty well thought out for an outdoor knife.

Simply put: I love this knife!
You can never go wrong with a Victorinox knife. The quality is always superior. The design and functionality are excellent. I have several of their knives, but this one goes with me any and every time I do any sort of outdoor excursion. The blade is substantial, and it locks! The other tools are useful...but the life-savers for me are the excellent saw (need a walking stick?) and the corkscrew (has made me the hero on numerous picnics!). It’s just a great all-around knife to carry. I made a leather pouch sheath with clip for mine, but you could keep it in a convenient pocket of your backpack just as easily. Oh, this year I bought 5 of these knives to give to family members for Christmas. Yes, I believe in this knife!! (I also believe in corkscrews!)

Great Utility Pocket Knife
A Swiss Army Knife that fits the hand. Locking main blade, very sharp and easily re-edged. Other retractable tools very convenient and durable. Priced right.
