This Book is Awesome
I LOVE this book!!!!! It is extremely well made and just what I was looking for.I am giving my grandson a gift certificate to a book store. I started thinking that the other grandkids were opening actual books and it was not as great of a presentation to just give him a gift certificate in an envelope. I thought maybe I would put the gift certificate in a box and wrap it. Then I thought about my girlfriend who made scenes in books that were very clever. And I thought maybe I would get a book and cut out the pages to make a space for the certificate. That led me to looking at book safes on Amazon and I found this one. It is absolutely beautiful and very well done. I am sure my grandson is going to absolutely love this. Of course he will be surprised thinking it is a real book. As he opens it and reads what it is about he will be thinking "What the heck?". I think it will take him a minute to realize there is a cut out inside. The cut out is beautifully lined and has a cover. I am more excited about giving this gift than any others this year. Thank you so much for creating such a fun, well made book safe.

I like it
I have no idea what possessed me to buy this apart from an unrepentant desire to live the life of an international man of mystery. It's possible I have issues (but few valuables).I'm working on the assumption that your run-of-the-mill drug-addled con isn't likely to spend much time perusing my bookshelf whilst tossing my apartment. Hunch, "working hypothesis," call it what you will. This is convincing. It's a real book with pages hollowed out. Would definitely hold up to a first pass. Given that the first dozen or so pages are intact, it might pass even if having fallen to the floor. The compartment is a good size too. Initially, I had planned to go with a can safe, but I would undoubtedly throw it out (together with the Hope Diamond lol). This is handy for cash or valuables you might otherwise leave lying around or in a desk drawer. Not really up to the task if you're planning on going full "Midnight Express" or moonlighting as a "mule" for the Cali Cartel (another "working hypothesis").

Very well made. Good value for the price.
I’ve tried to make hollowed out books on my own, But the amount of time that goes into it far exceeds the cost of just buying one professionally done from here. This is a very good price. I don’t think I would purchase it if it was More than $25. So the fact that it’s current price is below that is excellentFor scale/reference I am able to fit an iPhone XR in a thick OtterBox case in the compartment. Or I can fit 4 x10 ounce silver bars in there. Or I can fit up to 60/70 US bills/paper currency. It is a great product. Not too thick and not too thin. I personally would prefer it if there were a couple more pages between the front cover and the actual compartment. But this is a minor gripe. I am curious to see how long this will hold up with daily carry and use. I think this is meant to sit on a shelf somewhere but let’s see how it holds up day-to-day. I honestly could not make one better myself and for less cost. Very cool product.

It’s ok
One would think that such a concept in all its simplicity would be refined to near perfection in 2022. If it has, I haven’t found it, at least not on the /\maz0n. But is it really so simple? Maybe not. This is a real book with actual print on pages that are real as any to touch and a few to turn until the diversion is lost and it’s true purpose revealed. All too easily if you ask me because this kind of “safe” is a gamble, and if you lose it quickly becomes a matter of how clever the engineering and how carefully the construction is executed to whether or not your stash is exposed. The gamble being, of course, is anyone going to have enough need or interest to pick it up? So that’s where I’ll begin.Random. That’s what you get. I’m a man, a man’s man if you willl. I’ve got lots of tools, guns, electronics, things that work, things that need work, things with wheels and of course books. Wood carving, finishing, The Chemical Analysis of Electroplating Solutions, Guitar Chords, U-Line catalog, Garfield Swallows His Pride, Residential and Commercial Wiring just to name a few. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I’d be adding “500 Miles From You”, a story about falling in love in the strangest of ways over miles of……wait….WTF? Can I honestly expect that Bob or Keith or Dan or Jake isn’t going to see this baby blue sore thumb throbbing on my bookshelf and insist on picking it up to investigate what passages I’ve highlighted? I most certainly cannot! The paper cover comes off, but the title is still there on the spline completely alienated from the rest of the crowd. No bueno. So then it’s only fair to ask what if one of these knuckleheads can’t resist a good novel and picks it up? Depends. Looks and feels like a real book. It is after all, and as long as it’s opened from the very beginning it still holds its disguise. 6 pages in the jig is up and your stash is no longer. Due to the fact that, although also real, the pages housing the cutout don’t turn and this the book practically opens itself to page 7.There is no lock, only a cover to the inner compartment, which is about the size of a VHS tape if you’re familiar. It wouldn’t matter and I don’t see it as a negative for a diversion type safe. It is well made, but I strongly feel I could achieve similar results in the shop using a much more fitting title to effectively blend in.In all this book safe is good, but not great. Certainly worth having as a component to anyone adopting squirrel-like security habits for light valuables and stashes. If you don’t plan on needing what’s in it for extended time, just glue it shut. Gamble won and laughs for all, every time.
