This ship was not as well built as a similar one I had purchased earlier. There was also shipping damage and some parts were missing. Hopefully I can get the replacement parts and some rigging thread to fix the damaged lines and rig the bowsprit again. I’m glad the anchors and the eyelets were still in the shipping box.

These Old Modern Handicraft models are exceptionally nice. I have bought two of these, HMS Victory and the Royal Louis. These are 38 inch models and can be cleaned using either compressed air cans or a blower duster like the Metro Vac ED500 (which I recommend if you do not plan to put these in a case - I prefer out of the case but that means dusting). These come incredibly well packed. The Royal Louis box had some external damage to it which I photographed before opening. But because of how well it was packed it came through without damage. Some of these models have screws in bottom and some do not. The Victory did not (fortunately could call their toll free number when arrived as was during their west coast working time) but the Royal Louis did have screws. I found using a hammer with a screw driver (very carefully) helped to remove all the lateral supports. Lots of sharp points to be careful with. Instructions suggest having someone help you remove the model but at only 20 lbs if you separate the sides wide enough one person can do this easily. If you like detailed ship models these are well worth considering. Not inexpensive but you do get your money's worth in my opinion.
