If you like it spicy the is the stuff to add to your ramen soups etc. It has a kick and can be salty if you add too much. A little goes a long way. DELICIOUS! Note comes in a GLASS bottle neatly packaged.

This sauce is seriously amazing, I’m so glad I tried it! It adds so much umami instantly! It’s quickly become an essential staple in my kitchen. It’s sort of like a liquid vegetable bullion with a light soy essence, but without the massive amounts of salt and artificial bullion aftertaste. It does not have an overly fermented soy taste, it’s closer to edamame? It’s a nice clean flavor. It is salty, not as much as pure soy sauce or bullion, but I still use it sparingly like regular soy sauce. It does taste a bit more “raw” as a condiment straight from the bottle, but used with heat or in salad dressings and marinades, it really shines. It’s great sprinkled on stir fry veggies on high heat much like soy, it gets that savory caramelized coating. I add it to rice, dressings, dashi, tofu marinade, it’s incredibly versatile. It’s truly a secret weapon in the kitchen!

This adds some nice flavor to sauces and soups. Just be careful about how much you use, as it is high in sodium.

Having jumped on the Umami train some years ago, I've tried dozens of products advertising themselves as "umami". Aside from lab-derived MSG, every other one has a very noticeable and identifiable flavor of the source, whether it's fish or mushrooms or soy, etc. They all have a place in my kitchen, and I love exploring the flavors. But this pure, unadulterated Yondu seasoning seems to add that essential element without fundamentally pushing the overall flavor of the dish too far in any other direction. It seems perfectly at home even in dishes that don't call for the heavy flavors of other "umami" products.

This is delicious and adds a wonderful umami flavor, especially when cooking Wfpb no sos.

UPDATED REVIEW - The seller responded and explained that the date is reversed Day - Month- Year. They responded right away - again, I like the product. I really like the umami and it is so much less expensive than buying vegetable broth. I subscribed to receive it every 3 months. My last shipment was Jan. 28th and after opening, I noticed that the "Best Before" date on the bottle was Feb. 8th. I know there are debates about the significance of these dates but I think the company should take it into consideration before shipping. I will check the date after my next delivery.
