I purchased a refurbished Thinkpad from my former employer. It was a great deal all the way around. Unfortunately, after a couple years the battery stopped charging. It worked perfectly when plugged in but shut down the moment it was unplugged. I reverted to using an old Windows 7 laptop while researching the issue. After determining that a bad battery was likely the cause of my problem I researched replacements. This is the one I eventually went with. The instructions to determine compatibility were great, the price was very reasonable and the accompanying tools made replacement a breeze. The only drawback was there were no installation instructions but they were easily found on the web. It took me about 30 minutes to make the battery swap and confirm it totally resolved my problem. I'm psyched to have my laptop working on battery power. This replacement battery was a cheap alternative to a professional repair and was worth the gamble (return eligible) if the battery was not the issue. So thrilled to breath new life into this laptop and not have to shell out for a new unit.

On Lenovo's website I found instructions on how to replace the battery so I already knew how to do this. On the other hand, the instructions provided with this product were a little disjointed.I also found one small annoying detail during the installation. There was no description of how to disengage the electrical connector. It has a very nonobvious snap on the connector. It took a flashlight, a magnifier, and studying the part closely to finally figure it out. I sure wish this product's instructions would explain anything about this connector, it does not.One other detail to be prepared for is that this product's manufacturer suggests you go through 3 charge discharge cycles upon installation. I finally figured out that if I turn the brightness up on my laptop and let an online movie play it can accelerate the discharge time. All in all, the install (not including the old battery's removal) took about 15 minutes.Overall, I would recommend this product.Good luck!

Battery started to fail on my daughters computer. A battery replacement was the first obvious step.Not only did the battery fit perfectly, had identical specs as the OEM, but the kit also included tools to open up the back of the machine - which was a real plus considering I could not find mine when I needed them. Replacement was rather easy and the new battery had all the tabs needed to secure it properly.So far, the battery took a charge quickly and is working very well. Why replace a whole machine when you can make an easy repair!

The battery is not charging.. after two days it was only showing 3% battery and 3rd day onwards it shows 0% even after plugged in for charging for hours..I accidentally thrown away the package cover hence not sure how i will be able to return this item

This was a very simple replacement that took less than 10 minutes to DIY. Having the tools included was very helpful, the screwdrivers were the right size and the pry tool helped removal. Once the bottom cover is opened, the hardest part was removing the ribbon cable to connected the battery to the laptop. With the X1 yoga, the cable can be removed by gently lifting the ribbon. All in all a great purchase and easy to DIY. Highly recommended.

Battery died after 3 days of being installed on my lenovo laptop. It was never discharged below 60% and it was kept plugged in most of the time. When it died it was showing full charge, but the laptop turned off as soon as it was unplugged from AC. Had to reinstall the old original battery. I'm giving it 2 stars because shipping was fast and I got a full refund.
