Small Houses Paperback – April 30, 2019

I was so happy to receive this book and even happier that it was exactly what I hoped it would be. Full of wonderful floor plans for small houses. Much to my great surprise and happiness I found an absolute gorgeous craftsman house that I loved.

lots od interesting small houses to see, but i am beginning to see the same ones in books with similar manes and publishers

The book itself is a good reference, but this review is for the second-hand books source.

I was disappointed to find that this book was priced, as a used item, at $5 over the new price on the back of the book. I wrote seller feedback to voice this, but was emailed by the seller and asked to withdraw my feedback, as it would look bad for them. I found the book for much less on another site with shipping (about 1/2), which I explained to the seller in my return email. As the seller complained to Amazon, my feedback was removed because it was 'related to the product, not the seller'. I disagree. The book was ok, but it was being sold for far more than it was worth. It was a seller issue. This really made me angry, and I am finished with Amazon after MANY successful orders before. I have always rated things well...I do not appreciate having my honest feedback deleted with no opportunity to defend it.

It's what you'd expect from the editors of Fine Homebuilding magazine. Plenty of construction details. Many of the houses are classic designs. Great photography.

I should have paid more attention to this as I built my home! Next home I build will be smaller, greener. This book helps you design a small home that feels big and live-able.

My wife and i were looking for a new house to accomodate us and our son. We went to a number of open houses of typical contractor built houses and only got sick. The houses were big, inefficient and ill-designed. They lacked character and imagination. Therefore, we are now considering designing and building a house. This book, with its numerous examples of small, well-designed houses, is both helping us find features and designs we like and providing us with inspiration. The houses in this book have character. The book is well-illustrated.My only critique of this book is that it does not always provide square footage and cost per square foot as Taunton's annual house edition does.
