A decade of consistent use and still going strong!
I bought my Manduka black mat pro in the spring of 2010. I have used it weekly ever since and trekked it to yoga classes near and far. Even after all of these years, it still looks and feels great. I started practicing yoga in 1998, and went through countless other mats. Nothing held up, and either they weren’t sticky or not enough cushioning. I have used other popular mats as studios on occasion when I forgot to bring my own. They still don’t compare. As for the Manduka pro mat, I wouldn’t use anything else. It’s also very sticky, But as I remember, it took a little while to break in. Definitely worth the patience. One of the best investments I have ever made.

Figure out your priorities before purchasing. Easy clean or easy grip?
I finally purchased this mat. I started practicing heated vinyasa seriously and consistently 8 months ago. I get real sweaty and I will tell you, this mat gets super slippery. You will need a yoga towel. I have extra long ones with the silicone nubs underneath so it doesn’t move too much. I fold the extra material under the front and back of the mat and I’m set. The mat is weighty so everything stays put for the most part. I also have a lulu mat, which has better grip, but might be more difficult to clean if you don’t use a yoga towel and shows sweat stains. It’s gonna be a trade off, until the holy grail of mats comes along with great grip and easy cleaning.
