great value
I've had this pen for about 3 days now. I mostly use my pens for sketching and some writing at work.I will start off with what i don't like about this pen. I ordered a "fine nib", but it really feels more like a "medium" to me. I have a twsbi eco that has a "fine" as well but the penbbs 268 makes much thicker lines even though they are both "fine". Another thing, and this ones really just personal preference, the nib is very soft! it writes well and feels good when writing, I just personally prefer a little feed back from my nibs. If you like a soft nib you will love this pen.Now what i like about it. The overall design is very nice. I love demonstrator pens, and once you ink this pen up it looks great! it feels great in the hand when writing too (after you cap it) uncapped its a little small for my hands. The pen can be fully disassembled for cleaning, which is great for those of us who like to use different color inks and what to clean our pens thoroughly. And of course the filling mechanism, its nice to not have to rely on ink cartridges or small converters. this pen holds a lot of ink! overall i think its a great little pen, especially at the price you can get it at etsy, i think its under 20 there. At this price here on amazon, i would recommend you take a look at the twsbi eco first, since i think that is a good competitor to this pen at the amazon price.I did not have any issues with the pen skipping or drying up, a quick video on youtube will explain how you need to untwist the cap to make sure the valve is open and allowing ink into the feed, so just a heads up for anyone wondering. One more thing i suggest if you like a fine line, try ordering the "extra fine" nib when you purchase your penbbs 268

Amazing Value - A must have
I've had this pen for about 2 months, and it's quickly become my go-to daily writer. It can fully disassemble, which makes cleaning and greasing a breeze. It is a full demonstrator style pen, so whatever ink you choose will dramatically change the appearance. I personally like the sloshing effect I get with the Pilot Iroshizuku ink line. The nib is surprisingly smooth and wet. I would consider the line thickness closer to a medium than a fine. It does reverse write well, bringing the line thickness between an extra-fine to a fine. The nib is nicely engraved with ornate lines and the words "PEN BBS Since 2005 F." Unfortunately the nib has very little flex, but it is a standard size nib and I have seen videos of people swapping them out for their preferred brand. Word of caution - those who have swapped out the nibs all recommend taking extra care as the feed's ribs are very fragile. The filling mechanism is what makes this pen stand out, especially as a demonstrator. It is very efficient, with a lot of back pressure as you approach the bottom of the down-stroke. It was clearly built to a fine level of tolerance, which is truly impressive at this price-range. Without any tricks, I can easily get a 2/3 fill with 1 stroke. Also there is a small chamber between the feed and the barrel that holds ink for short writing sessions, see picture. If you find it running dry, you can unscrew the back cap to open up the ink flow. This same feature also acts as a seal to prevent ink leaking during air travel. My only small critique is that a wrench is not included, which is needed to remove the filling mechanism from the back of the pen. Companies such as TWSBI will provide a wrench with the pen to help with disassembly. With that being said, this pen does come in at under half the cost of the TWSBI vac-fillers, and you can find the right size wrench at any local hardware store.

Good while it lasts!
Great pen, wrote well out of the box, but developed a crack in the section after a few weeks of moderate to minimal use. I've now read this is a common problem with this model. I've contacted the seller to see if there's anything that can be done about this.UPDATE: 01/11/20. The seller responded and sent me a new section and nib unit. It took a couple weeks to arrive. I’ve since attached it to the pen and all seems good for now, but we’ll see how the pen works and if the same issue occurs. Updating for solid customer service.UPDATE: 10/07/20: The section cracked again. I stored it away then recently refilled it and after a few days of use it developed the same issue. I'm really disappointed as this is a wonderful looking pen and wrote well.PenBBS has a lot of great pens, unfortunately, this is not one of them due to QC issues. Hopefully, they've updated this and corrected the issue.

Gorgeous pen for the price.
I own many pens, most of twice or more of the cost of this pen, but this is the best looking ive owned. the mini fude nib may be polarizing and personally didnt love it but that was not because it was low quality. unfortunately, when i switched out the nib for a noodlers i ended up cracking the section. this could have been my fault just as easily as it could have been due to the manufacturing of the pen. so i cant in good faith knock it for that, as i am sure the manufacturer would not suggest you do so. the aesthetics alone place it in a class well above its cost and it looks stunning with a vibrant ink inside. as i mentioned previously i was not personal taken by mini fude nib so i dont think i will be purchasing again. this is mostly because i find that a lot of feedback helps my atrocious penmanship and their nib was very smooth. but most people find smoothness desirable. i would certainly encourage you try this one out. at this price it is most certainly worth the cost of experimentation

Very good piston (not vacuum) fill pen; good fit and finish, very competent on the page
This is a very good value for a piston-fill demonstrator pen. The EF nib writes smoothly. The balance and weight of the pen is good. I'm a left-handed underwriter, and it meets my requirements for section design (not a big flange) and nib size. The piston mechanism works well, and ink is lovely in a transparent pen like this. :) I would recommend this for anyone who wants to investigate fountain pens and use bottled ink.
