Amazon EssentialsMen's Classic-Fit 7" Chino Short

A Short(s) review
Product is well constructed from a comfortable fabric. Looks and feels like the name brand. Stitching is clean and uniform. Zipper is standard quality, should be just fine. Fit is great for me, but that's a taste thing, no accounting for taste. Hits me just above the knee and the straight legs don't make me look like I'm wearing clown shorts.Lot said on a pair of shorts, but I won't to give you enough info to help. They run a little tight in the waist, but not much. My first pair fits less snug, but I think it grew to me. Not sure what the true measurement is: me, the old shorts, or the new shorts? Couple of washes I bet the new fit like the old.

Nice fabric in shorts that fit perfectly.
These shorts are made of 100% cotton. The fabric is quite thick without being excessive. The shorts look great, fit great, and are very comfortable. The size 30 fits as it should. The metal zipper is strong as is the button on the shorts.I have recently lost quite a bit of weight and have needed to restock smaller sized clothing. These are some of the best I have bought and the price is great,.,

No stretch. Good value
Great length. Not too short. Not too long. They are a bit tight if you have bigger legs and butt (no stretch). Good value, though.

Gets the job done, but not my favorite
TL;DR: they are ok but there are better options for the price. Unusually high waist (or low crotch, depending on how worn). Slightly tight on hip. Some minor quality concerns but overall good enough. Most of my complaints are with the fitment. They are true to size (38) and technically should work well enough but they just felt slightly odd. The first thing I noticed is that they are really high rise. I had to either pull them up grandpa style with the waist basically at my belly button or keep them at my normal waist and have the crotch hang low. I went with the latter which makes the overall length look more like typical shorts with a 9" inseam and also produced a bulge when sitting down that would give women false hope. I laid a pair of my old shorts on top of them with the waists lined up and confirmed that the crotch does sit a solid 2-3" lower (also the zipper is a lot longer). The hip area felt tight when I put my hands in my pockets, especially if I had my phone, wallet, and keys in the pockets, but to be fair, I do have a rather big butt and thick thighs, and I am not used to non-stretch fit pants. Maybe the stretch fit version of these is better. I am very glad I got the classic fit and not the slim fit because those would definitely not fit.My only quality issue is the fly button seems to be sewn on kind of flimsily. It may be fine but I feel like it will eventually fall off. Otherwise, the material and sewing seems solid for the price. Hopefully they won't shrink in the wash. I do appreciate the 2 belt loops in the back instead of the usual 1, since my shorts often like to sag.I can't recommend these shorts as a first choice, but if you don't want to pay full price for brand names and can't find any other good deals, they will work. Personally, I will not be buying these again as I feel like there are better options for a similar or even lower price if you're willing to look. My favorites are the Member's Mark shorts from Sam's Club for $12-15, but they are only sold during Summer. I have had good luck with Saddlebred, Izod, Nautica, Polo, and Chaps as well when they go on sale at department stores for $15-25. I also ordered a pair of Izod Saltwater stretch shorts on Amazon that I like a lot better for only $18, but price and availability varies widely depending on size and color.

Comfortable shorts! Well worth the low price and quality!
I had never bought Amazon Basics so I was on the fence about buying. So, I jumped in the water and purchased these shorts and many after because of the quality and the price. No pandering here for Amazon, these short and their clothes are really of high quality. I bought a bunch of them for my trip to the Indy 500 and I was really glad I did. After buy these Amazon Basics' shorts out, I ended up buying great blue jean pants by Amazon. High quality and a lot cheaper than your average jeans.Bottom Line: Buy it! In fact, buy TWO or THREE!

good
Good shorts for the price. The color faded a little bit after a few washes, but still looks good!
