Great Product!!!
I've been using this model serial adapter for a few years now. It is significantly better than the cheap ones you can get elsewhere. I even use it as a troubleshooting aide when trying to get a cheaper adapter to work. Easy to select different protocols via the outside dip switches, and has additional jumpers inside for extra features (pull up/pull down resistors and other) though I have yet had the need to use them. It seems to select the same COM port on a PC each time it is plugged in and out which is nice if you’re using it to integrate to a PC based control or logging system. The DB9 connector on the side is great for making custom cables for a quick connection. And lastly it seems to handle faster speed serial communications more reliably than other adapters that I have used.

Will not Disappoint
We needed this for a training class on repairing Vairable Frequency Drives. The instructor recommended it for the class. It performed as expected with the confrigable dip switches very versatile and adaptable for the various types of equipment we worked on.

Had some issues
Talked with their support team and found out it was something on my end. My computer would only recognize one of the 4 that I purchased, but after installing the converters on several other computers, I found all 4 units worked perfectly fine. I am extremely pleased with the purchase and the experience from the manufacturer.

Robust USB-to-Serial Adapter
I have used these adapters for over eight years in industrial and laboratory automation applications. They are the most robust and reliable USB-to-Serial adapter I have used. I operate these devices in hostile electrical environments with frequent and energetic transient events. I would advise you against using USB in similar environments, but if you have to, these adapters are up to the challenge.I mostly use the RS232 mode, but I have used the RS485 2-wire mode successfully. I had to open the case and adjust the option jumpers to make it work, but the unit was capable. This could be a pain if you have to swap the unit between communication buses frequently.I had a coworker fry one once. They had it connected to a device while injecting 10KV ESD pulses into the device, so maybe get the optically isolated variation if you are working near 10KV pulses.
