good value, thin but functional
cheap foam insulation strip perfect for sealing my attic hatch against air infiltration. Very compressible - make sure to clean and dry surface you're going to stick to - dust is your enemy. Not sure how weel this would stand up to much use for a window - but perfect for a rarely used attic hatch.

Super adhesion, easy application, and it works!!
I love this stuff. I have only had it for a couple days, but as thin/cheap as it appears to be, it has kept the cold drafts out magically already and raised the temperature in my apt by 2 degrees right away. Love it.It is VERY sticky, so removal will probably be tricky down the road if I ever have to replace it, but opening and closing the windows and doors is easy and it compresses well to not cause difficulty or jams. I ordered 4 rolls at first, but am so happy with it , I want to do my cold bedroom closet door next, so I have more coming today and will have extra I used it on front door, sliding glass door, and foyer closet trim, and it works like a charm! I recommend. Don't let the small size of it fool ya. Yes, I recommend applying it onto your surface WHILE peeling the backing off as you go so there is more room for error, but it was NOT hard to get right or move a bit for straightening during initial install. Several hours later, my guess is that it's very hard to remove after setting. That is a plus for me

Low Density is Best for my Casement Windows
My wife & I designed & built a two story passive solar home back in 1986 and it has about 36 Weather Shield casement windows (wood frame) triple glased low E coating, etc. We went with these because at the time they gave the tighest air seal and were the most energy effivcient of anything on the market. Now most of the vinyl seals have deteriorated or fallen off due to aging oxidation and UV damage. I've tried many types of adhesive backed foam tape and the M-D Building products 02071 works best because it is easily compressed. This stuff doesn't seem to be available any more in the usual hardware supply stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, etc. They only carry the higher desity foam which just doesn't work. I actually need to run two parallel strips of this foam tape around the inside perimeter of each window frame. The strips are separated by a 1/2 inch air gap. The low density M-D foam compresses easily so my windows close far enough to engage the lever latch on the inside that pulls the window tight against the frame and locks the window closed. These two parallel runs get the window close or equal to the original seal and I'm pretty happy with the result. I'm just glad that M-D still makes it and it's available on Amazon. I bought 30 packs of this with 17 ft in each pack. I think I'll spend the rest of this summer and next fall gettting this project completed but it will be well worth it. It's amazing how much air and dust can get into the house if your windows and doors aren't air tight. I also plan to use this tape around the old magnetic door seals.

love this stuff
This stuff is great, cheap and easy to use. Don't need to worry so much about measurements cause it compresses so well. Its sticky enough to stay in place, but not super sticky. It won't hold up to any kind of abuse so make sure being squeezed down is the only force it ever sees.

Annoying to apply!
The paper backing does NOT come off this tape easily. Even removing it very slowly and carefully, it separated into layers (i.e. half the paper came off and half of it stayed stuck to the tape) or tore every eight inches or so, and I had to painstakingly pull off the fragments and start pulling the paper off anew. Really frustrating to use. Maybe that's what I get for buy the $3 product instead of the $5+ alternatives. Now that it's on, it seems to work ok preventing drafts around my door. Too soon to comment on durability, but I cannot recommend this product in in any case.
