It works great… as long as you don’t use too much
I like this product. I wish I had something to compare it too tho. But it does detangle my synthetic wigs nicely. I’ve tried it on some of my more expensive synthetics as well as my super cheap synthetics and it works on all of them. The best test was when I used it on my longest wig that is around 30”. Before Jon renau detangler that wig was one that seemed like I could never brush out all the tangles at once. Once I finished one side and got to the other side that first side would have tangles again if I tried to brush thru it. So it was a wig I mainly wore when I was feelin a beautiful long thick side braid. But when I sprayed Jon renau detangler on it I couldn’t believe my eyes as I was easily brushing thru these fibers that had never ever acted this way before. But you CAN spray too much, I found. If you do, you can feel it on the fibers. Specially once they’ve dried. Feels gross. And then you’ve got to spray water all over your wig to dilute the concentration of the detangler or go wash your wig and start all over again, depending on the amount your ‘too much’ sprayed is. So use just a couple sprays at a time and slowly add more if you need. I probably sprayed around 6-8 pumps on my 30” wig just to give you an idea of what I used and felt like it was detangling at its optimal level. It just doesn’t stay that way once it’s fully dried. The fibers are better than they were before JR detangler but not as smooth and detangled as when they’re wet with JR detangler spray on them. Overall this is a quality product to me and I’ll definitely buy again. I like the smell too- a nice clean fresh scent that I’d connect with a high end shampoo. It’s not a strong scent either.

Wow! Is this a miracle product?!
I've been wearing wigs for about 3 years due to alopecia. I have never been concerned with the longevity of my wigs because I buy affordable synthetic wigs typically costing $30 or less. I was using the Downy/water method to keep the fibers in check, but was never quite satisfied. Well now the game has changed because I recently bought a wig I ADORE, so much so I can see keeping the style for a year or longer. The wig was being discontinued and because of the low price I bough the last 2 units in my color. That started the search for a better product that would keep hair supple and (nearly) tangle free. Well I know the Jon Renau wigs (of which I cannot afford), so I figured the brand must know their stuff when it comes to wig care....and they do. I love this spray!I used it on my new wig that had tangled in the back due to a winter coat. Following the directions, and patiently combing out each section the tangles came free and the wig had a nice sheen. I have been using each night ( I've had product 3 days) to comb out wig before storing on wig head. In the morning I comb out the wig, and it falls beautifully. I've also noticed that the tangling from a day of wear has lessened considerably, so I am thinking the product is leaving a protective binder to keep hairs "slick".In any case , I highly recommend. Do not let the cost stop your purchase; I find a little goes a long way, so unless you have a unit that is very long or full - this bottle should see you through 6-8weeks with daily use.

Great product!
This product makes wigs feel like new. I'm glad I discovered it! I've used it on my wigs with dried ends and they're beautiful once again.

Good product
I've used this product for several years on my synthetic wigs. It has no scent so it won't fight with your fragrance. It smooths and helps comb thru tangled. It's a little pricey for this size, so I gave it 4 stars rather than 5.

Great Detangler for Long Synthetic Wigs
I'm new to wearing wigs. This is one of the products recommended by many wig companies and influencers. It did as it is supposed to do by coating the fibers and allowing the comb to more easily go through the fibers without damaging them. Will continue to use.

Fantastic for synthetic wigs
I love this stuff! I have a 5-foot wig that I needed to brush without ripping out the synthetic hair fibers. This stuff made the wig incredibly easy to brush. Additionally, I like how it smells, but I feel like some people might find the fragrance a bit strong.

Don't waste your time or money
Wigs are expensive so maintaining them shouldn't be. The fact that some are synthetic, like our clothes, means they could be washed in laundry detergent and softener. Human or more luxurious fibers require a better cleaner and conditioner. For decades I have used laundry detergent and softener on synthetics and Mane and Tale on human with good success. So deciding I wanted great success on a human and synthetic piece I bought from a luxury salon, I bought Jon Renu shampoo and this HD smoother. The human hair turned into a knotted mess after applying the HD exactly as suggested. And the synthetic is so matted and frayed that I simply threw it out. I am so disappointed more in myself than the products because if it works and it's CHEAP don't think you are going make it better with a fancy bottle and high price.

Smells Awful
I use this in combination with a leave in conditioner. I use the detangler first, but it has always had an unpleasant smell and the last bottle I ordered is so bad I'm not sure I will even use it. The leave in conditioner masks the smell somewhat, but I think I'm going to have to find another brand of detangler. To give you an idea of the smell, it reminds me of dead fish. Really nasty smell. Very disappointing because it works pretty well as a detangler.
