Mammoth Pecan Halves - 2 lbs.

They were not "Mammoth" at all. In fact, they were quite small and would be considered inferior pecans in the deep south. I used to harvest pecans for spending money. These would have been left on the ground because the value was way less than the effort required to pick them up. Taste was OK, but the size designation was not only misleading, it was untruthful.

The pecans wasn't as fresh as I had hoped.

I bought this brand on pecans in HEB and they where fresh nuts, moist and had a great flavor. I ordered them online and it was the total opposite, dry and flavorless. Definitely don’t recommend buying them online they are selling old stock dry nuts.

Pecans were large and fresh

The description should have read "Halves & Pieces". Since we are using them in recipes, the pieces did not matter that much this time, but I would be hesitant to buy them again because if they are advertised as halves, then halves should have been more predominant. The flavor of the pecans was great.

I ordered this particular pecan because of the word "mammoth". They arrived and I am sure will be delicious but my immediate reaction was one of disappointment as they are not truly mammoth. Most (90-95%0 were 1" in length. Some 3/4 of an inch. I see maybe 3 that are over an inch in length. I'm from New Orleans and am used to nice big pecans that are called "mammoth". These are not the same.

NOT the Priester’s pecans that I’m used to getting. Not fresh, not the flavor of a good pecan. These are also NOT mammoth size, they are just regular sized. Sorry I wasted my money. I’ll go back to buying direct from Priester’s!!
