Great battery. It lasted 4.5 years!
This battery was used for a solar powered electric fence power source. It lasted 4.5 years of service in this role. Highly recommend these. If I hadn't need an immediate replacement, I'd gladly have gotten another. This was a great value.

Efficient.
Keeping up just fine. Got our heater, tv and fridge on it and it seems fine. We wanted to go small and see how solar system works before going full solar support for most of the house. And well, I gotta say that I'm surprised how well it's keeping up with the main juice suckers of the house. Electric bill is down a bit, although we didn't use that much to begin with. But now that it's the holidays and cold, we should see a bigger difference over the next couple of weeks.I should note that although this worked great in summer, for winter, we needed a bigger battery. A much bigger one, lol. We actually had to practice conservation of energy. It was a hard and interesting experience. Showed us how much we do rely on things. But when the power did go out, it was nice not to have to scramble for candles and flashlights. It was nice to continue watching our movie with the heat on, put on a pot of tea and eat leftovers. Even if one can't afford to go full solar, which we can't just yet - laundry, dishwasher, yikes - but it's still so awesome as a back up.I live in the south in the middle of nowhere. Blackouts multiple times per year, with the worst being a full week.

Perfect For What I Do!
Bought this for a portable solar generator kit that I take camping so I can have power in primitive campsites. 35 amp hours is PLENTY of power for charging the smartphone, running a 12 volt fan continuously for those hot days & nights in a nylon tent, using a 60 watt equivalent LED desk lamp at night (with an inverter, of course & only pulling 3 watts on the desk light) & powering a portable washing machine (on the same inverter). Some campsites I've been to, are "No Generators Allowed On Grounds", but this setup *is* allowed. I just call it a "Solar Panel" to get by their rules. Having been to places where some RV'ers run their gas generators WELL into the night past "quiet hours" (with loud mufflers on them or NONE at all) I can see why that rule applies. And when the wind is in the wrong direction, you have to smell the fumes from those gas powered monstrosities! Talk about the headache from... well, you know where!A Renogy 100 Watts 12 Volts Monocrystalline Solar Panel & an ECO-WORTHY 20A 12V/24V MPPT Solar Charge Controller Solar Regulator 15-30% More Power charges this battery in no time, even on cloudy days. Granted, I won't get as much power on those days as to a sunny day, but free power nonetheless! And yes, an MPPT charge controller makes a *huge* difference in how much more power you get from your solar panels into the batteries, as compared to a regular charge controller. Invest in one..trust me on that!As much as I camp, & what campgrounds charge to have electricity at your site (usually an additional $10 to $15 per 24 hours around here), I've already gotten my money back out of this...& then some!

Great compact and clean unit, but only 35 AH
I have used only once on my fishing boat. I operated a 40 pound thrust electric trolling motor in middle speed (thrust) settings for perhaps an hour. From the terminal voltage it appeared the battery was well on its way to 1/2 discharged -= a point one should charge if they want to get hundreds of recharge cycles out of the battery. So, its low 35 AH capacity is a bit low for someone who wants to operate such a load as I had and need to do that for three or more hours. Not a surprise I had used a "flooded" lead acid battery rated at 50 AH in the past. That battery would carry me for a full day of part-time trolling. I use a gasoline engine to move the boat from point-to-point.I love the size, weight, and lack of exterior acid (I just carry "under my arm" so to speak). So far no holes in my cloths. The handles are too weak, the battery either arrived with one handle hinge point broken or it broke when I took the unit out of the shipping box, but as noted, it can be carried without worry about acid so the handle is less important than it would be for a flooded lead acid battery. One could use two of these batteries in parallel or switching when one gets low to get a 70 AH capacity. Given the size and price this seems to me to be a reasonable alternative to a larger capacity (hernia weight) battery.

35AH 12V DC DEEPCYCLE SLA SOLAR ENERGY STORAGE BATTERY
Good Battery, flat upright style terminals with holes in the center for a bolt/nut connection.I'm using it with a 50 watt Solar panel and 800 watt Inverter and works great for our uses. Would like to get another one for parallel hookup.8/4/2013: Bought another one of these 35AH, 12VDC DEEP CYCLE SLA(sealed lead acid) batteries for my solar setup today. They work great for my setup, which is basically just for emergencies, outages, lighting, camping and personal use battery device charging...Nice intermediate sized battery that doesn't take up allot of space but still does the job. Also picked up a Whistler 1600 Watt Inverter with this order. Will use my 800 watt Cobra in the cars or the storage shed. When this battery is out of service and is not being charged by the solar, I use a Schumacher SC-1200A 120vac charger to keep it charge up. Which will charge Standard, AGM, Deep Cycle, Gel Cell batteries. With a digital readout that gives the Voltage, % of Charge, S M L size Battery selection and your selection of the type of battery you want to charge. When it gets to 100% charged it shuts down.

Does the job
We have a decades old Torro electric mower that uses a 12V battery. This is the second season for this battery, and it is still working great. Batteries bought at the local big box stores would begin running out of charge about 3/4 through the lawn when it was a year old. There is no evidence of this one running out regardless of how tall the grass is.
