Seems great
Installed in about 15 minutes - most of which was removing and then reinstalling the 10 pentalobe screws in the back of the laptop. I've nearly filled up the 1TB drive from my desktop time machine backup ..which takes many more hours of course.Installed with a 1TB Crucial MX500 M.2 3D NAND SATA SSD. This adapter plus the SSD cost just over 1/3 of what Transcend or OWC want for their equivalent 1TB kit. So far its working perfectly. I was skeptical that a $14 adapter would work so well but perfectly happy with it so far. If there is any excess heat, I'm not detecting it. The adapter plus the new drive fit in the same space as the old drive. Nothing touching the laptop shell as far as I can tell.My only VERY minor complaint is the lack of clear directions. There are multiple 'nuts', screws, and washers included and not all are needed. Perhaps which ones you use depend in some way on the new drive you install.TIPS: make sure to buy a pentalobe screwdriver for the 10 external screws holding the back of the laptop on plus a torx t5 screwdriver for the 1 screw inside holding the SSD in place. Google 'Upgrade Your Macbook Air SSD with Any M.2 SATA Drive' and you'll surely find a great YouTube video by the same name with step-by-step directions .. including additional important steps like resetting the NVRAM on restart.

Do not hesitate! Worked Great!
I bought this to upgrade my MacBook Air 11" (Late 2010) and it was perfect! Installed without an issue and worked as expected. Once I booted via the MacOS USB boot loader i was able to format the new SSD without issue and do a fresh install of MacOS High Sierra. It does appear to be a bit thicker than the drive it replaces but no issues with assembly or overheating as far as I can tell. I used this adapter with this SSD and have had no complaints https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GJDHMPB/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_87v4FbX3HTRDB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It doesn't work properly
I bought 2 adapters, macOS is installed on an m.2 without problem and the computer starts to work, suddenly the Macbook hangs and when I force it off, when I turn it back on it does not recognize the m.2, I have tried this with 2 different m.2 and these 2 adapters I bought do not work, I had to buy the original disc to make it work

Fix your 2010/2011 Macbook Air Hard Drive..... Cheap!
I bought a used Macbook Air online and it did not have a hard drive in it at all. I look online for a way to put an SSD hard drive in it and found this little adapter on Amazon. Just slide it into the motherboard and add your M.2 SSD drive in the adapter and that's it! Up and running and works like a factory SSD.

Does what it says
It does the job it was purchased for but it creates packaging issues in the system and makes things pretty tight. Not sure what the long term reliability of it will be but it works and was inexpensive. Especially when compared to a proper Apple drive with its proprietary interface.
