Recommended by a professional painter for cabinet or furniture. The best primer I have ever used.
Bought a gallon, could have used just a quart. Used on refinishing my 1970's kitchen wood cabinets, the entire kitchen. Wanted the finish to be smooth and I was NOT using a sprayer.Sanded, applied primer. Lightly sanded primer and it felt like silk.Applied finish coat of acrylic urethane enamel paint , 2 coats - dried with no brush marks. Beautiful. Worth the price. Will buy again. Only criticism is can came dented - most likely from shipper tossing it.

great product, horrible shipping
great product, horrible shipping. If you order this, be prepared to have to have it reshipped multiple times due to the lid popping off, as amazon doesn't use the lid clamps necessary for when you ship paint cans via air.

Don't buy from this Distributor
I wouldn't even give this one star, but that is the minimum. My first can showed up completely destroyed, leaking everywhere. The can is supposed to have clips on the lid but it didn't. My second can made it to my door by a miracle still no clips to insure the lid won't pop off. We used the product, found it to be very very thick, so much so that it left a texture on our cabinets and now we have to sand again and start over. We took the can to a local Benjamin Moore dealer (who makes the product) who has a great deal of experience with this product. He confirmed that the product had gone bad either because it was very old or had been frozen. Not only that but the product should cost less than $40. Don't buy from Lancaster Distribution!!! Purchase from Benjamin Moore

Wow, it really works on Melamine!
Call me skeptical, but I had a hard time believing they could make any paint or primer stick to Melamine, which to me feels like a waxy plastic. But my husband hated the fact that his shop cabinet doors were slightly different colors, and that a few of them had some minor gouges, and he wanted me to try painting them before we resorted to replacement. After reading everything I could find on this process online, I decided to use Stix Bonding Primer, and Cabinet Coat. I began by washing the doors with soapy water, rinsing, then using a deglosser. I applied the Stix and Cabinet Coat per manufacturers instructions, and 3 months later, after quite a bit of use, the cabinet doors still look brand new!Definitely recommended.-------------9 month update - the cabinets still look perfect, no chips or other issues. Still definitely recommended.-------------15 month update - still perfect! Even the drawers that get a ton of use with greasy hands clean up with soap and water and look like new.

Great product
This is my favorite primer. I am a sculptor who uses lots of different materials and I have used this to prime every kind of plastic and metal that you can imagine and then painted it all with latex or acrylic paints. I have also used it to prime cheap resin lawn furniture which I then painted with acrylic. I did some about 5-6 years ago and they remain outside year round (I live in a mild climate, no freezing weather) and they never peeled or chipped. I also used it to prime large, slick finished plastic flower pots which I leave outdoors and they still look great after nearly 10 years. I never bother to sand any of the finishes before priming. I just bought some rather ugly brown resin deck furniture that I am going to prime with Stix and hopefully turn it all into objects of great beauty!I would like to add that I my order was well packed snugly in the box with clips on the can but best of all there was a hand drawn picture on the foam packaging of a stick figure rowing a boat and the oar was a real paint can opener. The words "Thank You" were written above the picture AND there was a handwritten thank you note inside as well as a stir stick and 2 pieces of candy! In the impersonal world of online shopping, this extra attention to detail was a true delight! The retailer, Southern Paint and Supply, sells on Amazon Marketplace.

Arrived spilled
This took an extremely long time to arrive and once it did, it was spilled all over the inside of the shipping box. Terrible overall experience.

Great coverage and adhesion.
We used INSL-X SXA11099-0 STIX Bonding Primer to paint kitchen cabinets that are over 20 years old and very neglected. I went on easily, dried quickly, and stuck to every crease and crevice in the boxes and doors. It was smooth when dried and the top coat looks great. I would highly recommend it.
