Worked in my Slider Window okay
I ordered this product as a replacement for an old worn-out pile weatherstrip in a slider window. I couldn't find this product at my local home improvement store, but it was on Amazon. I measured my old weatherstrip before I ordered, so I figured the 3/16 inch width would fit which it did very nicely. It does have the plain backing and not that saw tooth backing as I noted some reviewers mentioned. Also, it does not have adhesive on the back, but I didn't need that because my old weatherstrip fit into a groove on my window. I cut this Prime-Line T-8658 weatherstrip 22 inches long to fit in the groove on my window, after I had pulled the old stripping out. I started it in the groove at the bottom and used my fingernail on one side to seat it in the groove. It fit perfectly. The Prime-Line T-8658 has a thickness of .156 inches (5/32) and I wish that it would have been a little thicker like around .187 inches (3/16), but I think it still provides a seal when the window is completely closed. All in all I am satisfied with my purchase.

Worked perfectly on old Anderson window
Worked perfectly on old Anderson window. So happy the window seals are new again. The old ones were disintegrating and letting dust and air in. One package was enough to do the whole window with a few inches to spare. Going to buy a few more to do all my windows. Make sure you measure your channels properly before ordering a size. I read the negative reviews and figured they didn’t measure. Anyways they fit perfectly and worked great. Very well made.

Worked Good
Did the job3/16 was the smallest we could findSome areas of the windows we could not slide it into the track. Ended up cutting the sides to get it to snap in.Sizzors did not work well to do thisBUT Big toe nail clippers with the strait edge did. But that took hours.

does not have zigzag backing
Product Description saysThis window/storm door weather stripping is a water resistant synthetic pile material with a zig-zagged plastic backing designed for easy installation... This is incorrect. You will probably need to disassemble your window to install it. grrr.

Get it.
I am very pleased with this purchase! To provide a little background, my home was built in 1979 and has the original sliding glass doors. Over the years, some of the pile weatherstripping has been damaged and some is rotting away. I figured that since this weatherstripping is in every single sliding glass door that I've ever seen, surely I will just go down to the big box store and buy some or at least something close that will work. Unfortunately, I walked out of the big box stores with the same disappointment as I've had about 100 times in my life because as it turns out, they don't sell this weatherstripping or anything close! This was a lifesaver and worked as intended. The instructions recommend using a spline roller to install it. In places that I could get a spline tool to reach, this worked great. I put one side of the weatherstripping in place and used to the spline tool to press the other side into place. However, in some hard to reach places, I had to use a large flathead screwdriver to press one side in. It took a while, but I finally got it all in.

Absolute Garbage
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM. 'Had to throw it away as the height, width, and body of this insulating material was wildly insufficient. Imagine shaving off one side of a really skimpy pipe cleaner and you'll get an approximation of the bulk of this weather stripping. However, shipment was very quick.

Easier To Install Than I Thought
The tricky thing about wool pile replacement is figuring out what size(s) to buy—after all, the base of the old pile is still in the window and what pile there is, is worn. All I can suggest is to do your best to measure, then buy a couple different sizes, then purchase more of the size that works best. I started with 1/4” high pile, then opted for the .156” high. I almost wish I could have found something in between. Of course, the .156 could quickly flatten and negate the installation of fresh pile completely. Only time will tell. My old pile was crimped in place on both ends but removal was easier than I thought—just stuck a sharp awl into the end of the groove and wiggled on it until enough came out to grab with pliers. Don’t measure for the length you need-just hold some up edge to edge, mark with finger & cut. Installing the new pile was simple. Place bottom edge in first and push in upper edge with a flat head screwdriver, one ‘tooth’ at a time. I went over the installed pile with a screen roller to ensure it was all the way in. This seemed to solve my drafty window issue even if the window is harder to slide (for now?). It will probably loosen with time. Good product.

Perfect fit
Used to refresh an old storm door. Unfortunately It didn’t just slide in mine, as there were little indents in the channels every 1/2 inch or so. I used the smaller wheel of a screen spline roller tool to press it in Along length and that made installing it much easier
