Expensive, but nothing else like it out there!
Awesome lens! I do wish that the f-stop was better, but still great! This lens is very heavy, big, and expensive, but for this focal length you can't beat it.I was honestly skeptical about buying through a third party on Amazon, but all arrived as if I ordered directly from Canon! Everything was in the original wrappers and it was a new lens like advertised. My package did arrive late, but it was only one day. Overall I am a happy customer!

Stunningly perfect lens for wide angle
I’ve wanted a super wide angle for my Canon 1DX Mark III for a long time and finally got my dream. The sharpness and image quality of indoor real estate photos make any house a castle. Outside I added a Wonder Pana gradient and UV filter which make western facing sunset photos pop with saturated color. I haven’t tried this lens against the RF 10-20 mm yet, but I am super happy with my dream lens. I bought a Pelican case to protect it on airplanes as it is big and heavy. Canon quality is absolutely superb.

Outstanding!
I had been torn about spending this amount of money on a lens. I really wanted the ability to go this wide, for years. I'm very glad I actually pulled the trigger. The results are simply outstanding. Crisp, sharp, with great color capture... and not nearly as heavy as some have said. I'm used to the weight of a 100-400mm II, so the weight of the 11-24mm seems quite a bit lighter. I really underestimated how many applications there are for this lens. You can use it for nearly everything, as long as you pay attention to composition. It is a fun learning curve. My first thought was "Wow". Seems to be the common word when describing the results of using this lens. I really love the cap too. It is very functional, in providing protection, and easy to apply. With this lens, you are really only limited by your imagination. Better late than never.

A mighty lens with great capabilities and an equally mighty price tag.
After you swallow the price tag and get it out of the box you will see where the money goes.I have been using a 17-40mm for years on my Full Frame and for a crop body (APS-C and APS-H) also a 10-20mm and 8mm fisheye. The 17-40mm is probably my second most used lens. I have just returned from a project last week where it captured around 8000 of my 9500 images. I had hoped the preordered 11-24mm would have arrived before I left but it never seems to work that way.Putting a few hundred pictures through the 11-24mm I can say it has earned its place in the camera bag. It brings considerably more heft than the 17-40 - probably 2-3 times the weight. It is also deceptively large. But it works well at capturing a sweeping view and does so with a minimum of distortion. As of the time of writing this Lightroom does not currently have a lens profile available for the 11-24mm. Hopefully one will be available soon for this and the eagerly awaited 5DS-R - I anticipate the pair of these will be great duo!

This lens is just amazing! Can make corner homes look like they are ...
This lens is just amazing! Can make corner homes look like they are hill top properties. Amazing for cityscape, landscape, creative perspectives. I use this lens walking around very often and has a permanent place in my bag. It is also great for photographing data centers where in a tight space you wanted to photograph. Also amazing for night slow shutter/bulb photography with big starry sky above night landscapes. After this I have the 24-70 then 70-200, the new 100-400mm then the extender and one more 180mm macro and I am set. Just need to find some good gelatin insert ND filters. I've seen some people say they would rather just have a 16-35 range, however on full frame I am most often in the 11-14 range, those are the most amazing shots! Before this lens the only other lens that came close to it was a Nikon 14mm from 30+ years ago that still sells more than $20k used! It takes special appreciation that Canon has achieved a rectilinear this wide!

I bought 2 of these!
This is my new GO TO lens for creative interiors. Ya it works great outdoor for pano shots, but I mostly stitch panos from 100mm or longer lenses now, so this is not nearly as cool as it would have been before stitching software was decent. But for interior shots with vertical lines perfectly straight - this is perfect! The CA is very well controlled - much better than the fish eye zoom but not as well as 16-35 f4.This lens is HEAVY - although it is part of my 'small' travel kit (11-24, 24-105, 100-400) it weighs as much as 70-200 f2.8 and is wider than that lens. This is the main problem with this lens, it's not very compact for an f4 lens and the front element is huge and can not be covered with a filter for protection. But these are small problems once you see the images that can be created through this lens.

Incredible Ultra Wide Angle Lens
If you like to shoot ultra wide angle images with minimal distortion, this is your lens. I've been shooting with wide angle lenses since the late 1970's (16 mm Sigma on an Olympus OM-2) and always enjoyed the wide angle look. But I was always somewhat disappointed with the distortion these lenses produced. Now that has changed with this lens. Even at 11 mm, the image is straight and true, even at the edges. This lens is perfect for small interior spaces or outside where space is limited. Just zoom out to 11 mm and prepared to be amazed. Highly recommended!
