I love this brush. I have thin, fine, shoulder length hair but this brush works on any hair no matter the length, thickness etc. It is very well made with a heavy and sturdy handle/base and stiff but gentle bristles. The bristles are very long and reach right down to your scalp and massage it. It distributes oils throughout your hair to keep them from accumulating at your scalp and prevents frizz. It gets through tangles effortlessly and gets rid of bed head. It feels AMAZING to just brush your hair and it goes through my hair so smoothly, even when it is so messy. There is no pulling or tugging. This is the only brush I now use and like I said it works on all hair, it is the brush to have.This brush works with any hair, curly, thick, long, short doesn't matter. The bristle spikes are long and get right down to your scalp effectively brushing the hair instead of just going over the top of it. This brush can put up with heat so it can be used when you are blow drying, curling or straightening your hair and is unaffected by any chemicals you put in your hair. I travel with this brush and it still holds up great. This brush does not need to be babied or treated gently. It is a great, universal brush. I have used SO MANY brushes in my life time and I can rightfully say this is the best. I even prefer this to my Mason Pearson.The way I clean it is remove ALL the hair first and mix liquid antibacterial soap, baking soda, and vinegar in a bowl of hot water (about 1 to 1.5" of water) and let the brush soak bristles down for about 20-30 minutes. Remove and rinse thoroughly and I scrub mine with the "Denman Hair Brush Cleaner" (available cheaply here on amazon) to get all the gunk off the base. Then when it is all rinsed off I squeeze the water out and let it dry upside down on a towel overnight and clean off the cleaning tool.You can purchase this brush off Aveda's website for $20 + about $5 for shipping unless you spend over a certain amount and get free shipping. This is the greatest brush on earth. I'm not exaggerating. I got my first one about 20 years ago and haven't used another brush since. To the point that in my childhood home Mother had a dot of pink nail polish on hers so no one got away with taking it.I've had maybe 4 total, but only one had to be replaced because of old age (and getting squished in an overpacked suitcase — the combination was no good, but it probably could've made it if I babied it a little more). The others came as a result of panic-ordering if I can't find it, or to have one in my travel kit. I still have one from 12 years ago, and while the stain on it has sort of bleached away, it's perfect otherwise. The quality hasn't changed over time.The bristles feel so good on your scalp it's like a mini-massage — and it gets better after it's broken in a little and it softens. It is gentle on wet hair, and on most days it glides right through without a fuss, so no need for combing or a separate detangling brush. It's great for a straight blow-dry, too (see Harmonize_ Beauty on YouTube for a blow-dry tutorial with this brush). Because there aren't beads on the ends of the bristles, like most paddle brushes, it stays looking new much longer.

THIS PADDLE BRUSH IS THE BEST INVESTMENT. GLIDES THROUGH MY COARSE FINE HAIR WITH EASE, VERY LIGHT WEIGHT AND EASY TO HANDLE. GREAT TOOL EVEN ON CURLY HAIR FOR DOING BLOW OUT'S WHEN I ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU NEEDED A ROUND BRUSH, THIS ONE WORKS BETTER. I HAD ONE OVER 10 YEARS AGO AND DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO IT, BUT GLAD I REPURCHASED THIS BRUSH.

I have (very) long, straight hair that tangles easily and a (very) sensitive head. I discovered this brush years ago at a salon and was thrilled when I found it available here in Amazon.

I’ve finally replaced my Aveda paddle brush after 13 years of using it. This thing is totally worth the money as it lasts a long time and gets the job done.

it doesn’t hurt while brushing though a downside of it is it you have water on the counter and if you leave the brush sitting on the water the paint comes off or i guess the stain!

I replaced this product after using the original for 15 years. I purchased a smaller similar product, but it wasn't the same and it got stuck/wrapped around my hair. I replaced the original and I am so glad I did. I love this so much and if you have long hair do yourself a favor and purchase it. So worth it. Don't spend money you don't need to like I did. If you find something cheaper don't bother, it's not worth it. Enjoy!

This is a very sturdy and comfortable paddle brush. It's my go-to brush and I've bought it for my family members, too. They love it as well.
