The leaves are good condition and rehydrate easily
The leaves are in good dry condition. They rehydrate easily after soaking in water. Nice fresh lotus leaf smells for food wrapping.

Wasn't aware of the presence of cadmium
There is a warning sticker on the package that the product may expose you to cadmium, which disappointed me. I bought this brand specifically because I know GMO's are not legal to grow with products grown in China. After researching it more, cadmium is actually present in a lot of potatoes and such... But it does upset me because I wanted to brew it into tea and make extracts and such, which I now don't know the safety of, and do not want to make something with a lethal dose of cadmium.That said, the package came on time and the giant Lotus leaves are something to behold! If not for the Chemicals present, I would give 5 stars, but that definitely took away from my experience. I am unlikely to buy again, as I would rather go a healthier route, but it was a truly fascinating experience to receive the whole leaf rather than cut and sifted or powdered (as it comes elsewhere)

Inconsitent quality from order to order and within each package
I've order this product a number of times and it's always been a bit of a hit or miss in terms of quality. In this last package that I received the outer leaves were the normal size and good quality but about a third of the inner leaves in the package were smaller in size, partially torn and only portions usable. I use these for Lo Mai Gai.

Cadmium is a big fat no no especially pregnant...
So i didn't see the warning lable till it was to late. I need to start reading reviews before buying anything...I had made the most delicious sticky rice got two bites in and my husband brings over the package...Big old warning lable for cadmium. Very harmful especially when pregnant. Awesome. But hey, the light taste of lotus in the sticky rice was BOMB. Throwing it away now...

worms inside
When I received it, the appearance looks fine, but after I opened it the inner leaves are chewed off by bugs. It was very disturbing.
