Does the job
Worked as advertised. The old one is about two years old and leaded water profusely. I took it off and found that the gasket had gotten compressed and brittle. Unfortunately, even after replacing it, the was would still pour out when the shower was turned on. I then placed it in a cup of vinegar for an hour. That helped, but still some water was leaking out. I have left it in vinegar for overnight. That should fix it, but I had not bothered to test it, since I now have a new one.

Hard to find locally, easy on Amazon
Vacuum breaker for the shower installs easy and works for a few years. I've replaced these ever so often like every 3-5 years it seems. They don't last forever, but aren't a whole lot and work as they should. Finish lasts the lifetime of the functioning product. Use a rubber strap wrench so you don't mess up the finish.

Great price and item is as advertised
My old one wore out after 8 years. It’s one fits as promised and does the job.

Does it's job. My shower doesn't drip drip drip anymore
Nice high quality all metal part. It does what it's supposed to do and now my shower doesn't drip for 30 minutes after I get out. I have a handheld showerhead. Four stars due to the price. It's expensive.

Meets a need
Easy to install, solidly made, and worked with my Delta showerhead with spray arm. Not sure it was actually needed as the tub would have to be completely full for the spray arm to be in the water, but it's up to code now.

Looks nice, and least expensive
I'm doing an extensive home renovation. Building codes in my city requires all handheld showers to have a vacuum breaker to prevent backflow. Although I think this requirement is somewhat ridiculous, I have no choice but to obey in order to pass inspections. I bought this Hansgrohe unit, as well as another unit made by Delta Faucet. I personally think the Hansgrohe one looks nicer, and it's less expensive too. I don't really care how long these things will last, because when they start acting up, I'll just take them off and throw them away. I only need them to pass the stupid inspection ;-)

Meets the requirements
Many cities require these to be installed between the lookout nipple on the wall of the shower and the hand-held shower head. You simply screw the fitting onto the hose and then screw this combination onto the connection at the wall. This prevents any water or any other liquid (I.E. chemicals that might be in a bucket, etc.) from getting sucked back into the water supply if the hand-held shower head were to be immersed in something bad and someone creates a suction on a lower level of the home. This is priced about right, and is good quality. Even if it's not required by code, not a bad idea to install one on your hand-held shower heads.
