Bandai Spirits Hobby Star Wars 1/5000 Star Destroyer (Lighting Model) Limited Ver. Star Wars, Grey, Model:-

1st off, it IS smaller than other releases of the star destroyer, but that doesn't hurt a thing! details are FANTASTIC, crisp and clear lines and detailed 'fine detail' throughout! i love that bandai even put a 1st run acknowledgement on the cover, for us folks who ordered in advance. it just seems like a nice touch to me. the lighting kit looks involved, but doable. i'm a noob when it comes to lighting kits, experienced builders should have no problem. lighted kit or not, you WANT this kit!:)

The kit is fun to put together, the lights are ok, and should not be a big issue even for a starter in the hobby. Bandai once again Supreme quality, crisp and detailed. The need to paint is of cause a must, it gives this amazing kit the final touch.

This Star Destroyer model kit looks great and is perfect for any enthusiast. It was easy to assemble however you should give it a black wash and spray it with some matte clear coat. The end result looks amazing no matter what version you choose and you'll have a great time building it. My only complaint is that it's a pain to turn the lights on but other than that I'm happy with my purchase.

If you want the definitive Star Destroyer model look no further. Incredibly detailed and accurate to the ILM studio model made for Empire, this Bandai kit won't be matched for a long while.This limited addition comes with the clear parts for more high level building with fiber optics, but for the better value for most average builders you should get the non lighting version at almost half price and do your own LED lighting. Non lighting version still comes with pre scored window holes and light diffusion parts needed for the work, and the LED color is wrong with cool white as oppose to more warm color of the movie miniature.

Gave this 3 stars for one reason. Size. 12" is just too small. At the very least this kit should have measured in at 18".The detail is incredible though...some of it so tiny you need to view it with a loupe. Easily it's on par with their 72nd scale Perfect Grade Falcon.The kit's engineering is top notch. It was a smart idea to mold some of the sections in clear plastic so lit windows can be created and be more in scale to the models small size. There are some pre-drilled fiber optic holes built into the kit and while that is a nice feature, they look to be a little big. However that can be fixed.The box art is awesome, and so is the additional booklet, which include shots of the actual filming miniature.Hopefully down the road Bandai WILL do a Perfect Scale Star Destroyer. 24". 30". Something with some size that gives this amazing ship the respect it deserves.

The Falcon was huge....I would have paid more to get this puppy up to 30 plus inches.Other than that...it is fabulousIt is really kool...in soft light with it all lit up....the hanger on the bottom just causes memories....I saw it 13 times in 77....

This thing looks absolutely phenomenal! I wish the LEDs had more of a yellow hue to them to match the on screen appearance, but other than that, the detail is absolutely amazing.
