Exactly what we needed.....Straight replacement 👏🏻

I fitted a Gatemate latch of the same type before and expected similar quality.They are not similar at all and the three I ordered are simply poorly finished cheap tat. They work but in one case the zinc is flaking and looks more like touch up paint than metal.The welding is poor and the ring in one is more of a distressed oval.I phoned the supposed supplier who do not recognise the barcode on the packaging.Previous Gatemate purchases have an image of the product outside, not a barcode with no manufacturing base.They look like junk, I think Amazon in general are becoming a total waste of time as the stuff I buy is not that convenient or competitive any more and frankly this rubbish would have been better addressed to my local tip.

Gatemate products seem to be good quality - have had a few items for 2 gates recently - this one is a little lighter than I had expected and has a few rough edges / notches on ring so slightly disappointed.

This appears to be a great product, sturdy, easily fitted, no sign of weather damage so far. I replaced the two screws for the keep plate with longer and thicker ones to improve security.

Just as expected, needed a latch with a longer than normal lever due to gap between gate posts. Solid high quality galvanised latch.

This is a solid product which works well, particularly with the longer than average latch length which was ideal for my application. What lets this down is the very poor finish of the zinc coating which is very rough and patchy. Both rings had many sharp spots which needed sanding down to make it comfortable and safe to use. This may well mean that resistance to corrosion is reduced. It's a pity about this as otherwise the product appears to be well made.
