SHURFLO4008-171-E65 115V 3GPM Revolution Pump

My application was to provide water to an RV, thru 300' of hose, with a rise of about 30'What you need to KNOW.Called Shurflo tech support 3 times to get details on what was needed.Pump needed to have pressure switch so that when faucet in RV is turned on, it will pump.Also required a check valve, to stop any potential backflow. This model has these features.Talking to tech support I learned that backflow downhill to the pump should not be more than 20-PSI. Therefore mounted the pump 2/3rds of the way up the hill to the RV. That worked.BE AWARE, that the instructions say that heat output can be 250F 120C, so be aware of confined spaces, and plastic near by.Talked to tech support at Shurflo and Peter told me what part adapter I needed for this standard 3/4" hose.HE WAS WRONG, and the part was useless. Had duplicates of the part in the box. These were not used.These following part numbers from ACE hardware will get you in and out connections for a standard hose.Part# 70544 3/4" male hose thread by 1/2" female pipe thread.Part # 71939 3/4" female hose thread by 3/4" female pipe thread single swivelPart# 4501482 Hex head bushing 3/4" by 1/2"Teflon pipe thread tape is suggested on some parts.I think it was about $12 and change total price.You will also need to purchase a standard 3 prong male electrical plug, as the wires are raw, just Green, Black and White. Looks like 16 gauge to me..Had the pump running intermittently for 2 days now, and no problems so far.

Excellent pump for potable water - quiet - easy to install.Although it is not noted in the description, this pump is suitable for potable water. This means that it can be used for drinking water. DO NOT use a pump that is not certified for potable water for ANY installation where the water will be used for consumption or food preparation.I was able to wire the pump to a heavy cord and heat shrink it to keep the elements out of the line, ensuring safe operation and portability. The pump works exactly as it should and is very quiet. I mounted the pump and a tank to a framework made of 2x4s for a friend's concession trailer and it works like a charm. This is a potable water pump, so you can use it for drinking water or commercial purposes where the water is used for consumption. It is VERY important to ensure that you use a potable water pump for ANY application that will be used for consumption.The self-priming functionality is perfect, as I was able to simply drop a hose into the water tank and turn the pump on and water began to flow quickly. I let the pump run the container dry and it worked as it should. The pump has a pressure sensor to turn itself off when it encounters enough resistance. UPDATE: I sent an email to the company and they are replacing the pump. I am hoping I just got a lemon and the new one will work good.I bought this pump because a friend of mine said it was a great little on demand pump and would work great with my rain barrel irrigation project. Well it has never worked right. The pump never stopped running once the water pressure was shut off. I had to rig up a toggle switch totally defeating the purpose of an on demand pump. Then after 6 weeks of using it like three times a week at most it just sputters out water. I guess you get what you pay for

Outstanding service and delivery from Lake View! Took 30mins to install, would’ve been less but for the floor mounting screws hidden in back of the cabinet. I’m a cabinetmaker, so I have a close quarters right angle cordless drill driver which helped a lot. The instructions say to not use Teflon tape, so I was pleasantly surprised with the ease and secure (leak free) fit with hand tightening. When I put water in the RV FW tank and turned on the new pump it was 50% quieter. When I put some under the intake filter and piping it was 80% quieter. This is such a common problem in RVs I don’t know why they don’t standardize on this pump and water hammer remediation. Pump has great suction and pressure!

The unit I received had water in it but seemed to be new, maybe that was from testing in the factory. Anyways...I installed my water system from scratch, and didn't realize this calls for no smaller than 1/2" ID lines everywhere. I used the most simple setup with the sureflo accumulator and prefilter etc. but my system is 3/8" ID PTFE tubing with John Guest fittings. Being that my pipes are smaller than it calls for I was worried I'd have backpressure and cavitation but I open the main valve only 75% and that seems to help, it works great so far. Will update this review if something changes

I ordered the shurflo 4008-101-E65, but received the A65 without factory packaging and full of water. Manufacture date was 8/12/20, ordered it on 8/19/20, received 8/24/20. **Update** I received a response less than 2 hours after posting review. Distributor receives these pumps in boxes of 12 (thus no factory box) water in pump was presumably from factory testing. The model I received wasn’t the model I ordered, but the factory website noted it was a direct Oem replacement. I’ll update to 5 star if it operates as expected. Very good communication on their part!

It works great since almost a year now! It is a little bit loud, but i got use to it.

I use this to pump water from my rain totes to my garden hose for watering the lawn and plants. Good pressure, smooth flow, works well. Be very careful tightening the plastic inlet outlet fittings, while tightening the strainer on the inlet (only with my hand) I broke the plastic casing on the front of the pump, luckly I was able to order a replacement part on Amazon which came the next day.

I'm impressed by this little pump. I'm using it in our cabin at the lake to pump water from and inside holding tank to our toilet and bathroom sink.Originally I was going to purchase a 12V pump and 120VAC transformer but this pump is designed for 120VAC so I purchased it and didn't have to worry about getting a 12V DC transformer. There is no electrical plug on this pump just three wires (Black/Hot, White/Neutral, Green Ground). You can either hard wire it or in my case I installed a 120VAC electrical plug.Overall this pump is well made and works great. It's not as quiet as I thought but it is quieter than the pump in our 5th wheel. The 120VAC power connection and built in check value make this pump ideal for running our small cabin water system and heartlily recommend it.

Works well. Just enough pressure for our trailer

Use this in our food truck. Works great but make sure it doesn’t get to cold. We have to replace it again as we didn’t think that it was overly cold this past week. Other then that it works great and does the job we need it to do
