When it was time for the next step up, I chose this camera
When I first got serious about nature photos, I got a "bridge camera" (a Panasonic DC-FZ80) with a built-in lens capable of everything from macro to telephoto. The "all-in-one" nature of that camera is great for hikes, and I still use it for those. But when I started wanting to capture the fine details during bird photography -- individual feathers, for example -- it was time to buy a camera where the body and the lenses come separately.I also found that as the amount of ambient light went down, my bridge camera images got distressingly noisy. To get around that, I wanted a camera where I could fit a lens with a lot of light gathering power. As for why this particular camera: I looked at Nikon's mirrorless cameras, but they're expensive and at this time, you also need an adapter to fit many existing lenses to those cameras. (An expense for something that doesn't make the pictures any better.) So I opted for an older SLR design as a money saving measure and put more of my money into the best lens possible. The D5600 is great for still shots, which is what I'm after. Where it shows its age is its limited video quality.I was a bit leery about buying the camera "renewed," but am glad that I did. In exchange for saving some money I got a funky Nikon box, but I recycled that a while ago. The camera itself looked new -- and it sure works great.

Amazing Camera Body & A* Price
I was a lil nervous w purchasing a pre/owned camera. New to photography & just trading up from the D5100…… this body came perfectly packaged looking brand new (w a very minute scratch)I am VERY pleased- went out and snapped a few photos immediately. This camera performs sooo very well.Buy in the highest confidence in this seller!

Cannot tell the difference
i recently purchased a Nikon Certified Refurbished D5600 as it is quite a bit cheaper than a new camera. Even though it is "certified" I was still nervous that i was getting more of a used camera than new. I have to say it is perfect. I cannot find a flaw anywhere on the camera. Works perfect, looks perfect, I cannot tell the difference from a brand new unit. I cannot give a star rating at this time for the picture quality or battery life as I have only taken a couple of photos of a wall just to make sure everything works. i will try to update once I have properly taken/processed some raw images.

Great and versatile camera
Love this camera so far. I am a reporter and photographer for a small newspaper. I shot a football game on Friday and parade and pageant on Saturday and the camera shot both impeccably. I would recommend watching a you tube video on the camera. Clearly explains all the buttons and options on the camera.

Looked and worked like new!
I already own a Nikon D5600 camera and several Nikon lenses, which I purchased new in 2018. As a hobbyist, I occasionally take pictures at friends' or relatives' parties or weddings. I wanted a 2nd body for the few occasions where I do weddings. I didn't want to pay full price for another body, so I decided to try a certified refurbished body. This camera looks and works just like my new D5600! It arrived on time inside an inner white Nikon box, labelled as refurbished by Nikon, Inc. and covered by a 90 day warranty.

Great Upgrade
I bought this camera as a replacement for my Nikon D3100. The D5600 provides much higher resolution digital images. I love that I can take 1080p video with ease. The camera connects via Wifi to my smartphone so I can easily download my photos directly to my phone and I can use the phone as a remote control. All the accessories from my D3100 work with this camera including the lenses, the battery and remote shutter.
