Tough to Mudder Through This One
The book was more PR for Spartan races and the author than any kind of valuable training program with some pseudo-history of Sparta mixed-in. Not much beyond basic guidelines for healthy living found in most fitness and healthy lifestyle guidebooks.

Awesome Book!
This book provides you with some basic nutrition and workouts in order to prepare you for your first Spartan Race. If you already do some sort of physical training, you probably won’t find anything surprising. What is truly great about this book thw first half filled with motivating stories and advice on building the mental toughness to conquer any obstacle in life, not just a Spartan race.

Very quick read full of interesting and useful information. After reading this book and completing the 30 day program you will certainly be as prepared as you can be for an OCR event. As a Trifecta Member I would recommend this book to any and all OCRers.

Joe is a Great Motivator!
First read 'Spartan Up'.... in just a day! Couldn't wait for this book to arrive, although it took me two days to read! Joe De Sena is a great motivator! I'm 59 and have completed five OCR's since reading his books! My Goal: The 2017 Trifecta in Hawaii! My suggestion: Buy them both and go compete!

Good book for mental and physical fitness
Solid book - I liked the chapters that talked about the mental aspect to training and resilience.Although I have 10+ years experience in the fitness/ health/ teaching industry I took away some useful perspectives and ideas that I will incorporate into my own training.All round good read, easy read, useful read!

Recently signed up for Spartan Race - this was the perfect read
Much needed reality check of what it takes to complete a Spartan Race and exciting to know exactly what needs to be done to conquer what would have seemed impossible months ago. This book has inspired me to complete the Spartan Race Trifecta!Off to buy supplies for training.Time to get Spartan Fit! AROO!

Inspirational
My husband and I have recently started to get in shape. He is running his first Spartan race in a couple of months. We have been listening to this book on audio and we are both really enjoying it.
