What a brilliantly superb book!The topic caught my attention, the positive reviews drew me in, but it was actually the negative review that convinced me that this book was definitely, absolutely a must-have. When I saw in the sour review (so completely different from every other one) the familiar harmful propaganda spread by an infamous glider mill, complete with their mill-sponsored association and vet, it astonished me so much that I thought, "If they're trying so hard to discredit this book, it's got to be something truly special."And it is! This book seeks to protect and cherish these beautiful little creatures in a way that is counter to everything taught by glider mills. It is an easy read, yet every page is packed with superior information that far surpasses any book on sugar gliders that I have ever read, (and I already had a definite favorite.) Furthermore, it has given me new tips that I have never heard before, which will definitely improve how I care for my beloved little animals and potentially prolong their lives and happiness. Every guideline in the book is sound. Everything written is there for the benefit of the animals, and it adeptly guides dedicated owners on how to properly love and care for these beautiful, fragile, expensive, messy, high-maintenance, wondrously delightful little creatures.

I have had my baby for a little over 6 years now and when I got her, there wasn't a lot of reliable information available. A lot of the websites and books I read conflicted with each other and just seemed wrong. Even the numerous veterinarians I saw all had different opinions about diet, weight, etc., and I got the feeling they just didn't know that much about sugar gliders. So most of what I know today is based on my own experiences. Recently, I've met several sugar glider owners and even someone running a rescue group, and I was surprised by how little they knew. I wanted to find a good resource to recommend to them and that is how I found this book. It is the most informative book I have read so far. It is thorough and spot-on with what I already know, plus it has a lot of great new information I've never read before. If you have questions about sugar glider care, this is the book to get.

I'm looking into getting a sugar glider and this is my first step, find as much information as possible and make an informed decision on if I have the time and patience to keep one.For the protien part of the feeding, I would have liked discussion of a few more types of insects. I have an active lobster roach colony and an establishing dubai roach colony for my girlfriend's bearded dragons, as well as for an occasional snack for my tiger oscar. Roaches are generally considered better nutritionally than crickets, but I'm unsure if a sugar glider would like them or if they can even eat them at all.I didn't like that specific diet plans were mentioned, but there was no real information on them. All you're given is a link to where the diet information can be found online. I would have preferred if we had been given at least the bare basics of the diet and could make an informed decision on which ones to pursue. Links and referances are a great thing, but a book on it's own isn't good if it's only acting as a website guide. After all, over time links can break and relying on them indefinitely isn't a good plan.All in all, the book was great, a very good place to start your resarch, but there were some key weaknesses in it that could be fixed.

This book is a must have for the person trying to decide if a sugar glider and care of them would fit into your lifestyle. Also a good refresher for anyone having owned gliders previously and to get new and up to date feeding and care tips. I find that I keep rereading the recipes and sites listed for the hard to find food stuff's needed for their optimal health and care. I had a glider many years ago, but this time it is a whole new world for me and my new baby because of all the good information available in this book. Glad it was in kindle format as alot of the glider books are not yet available in kindle so that also really helped. Thanks so much for this wonderful guide.

I ordered this book along with a National Geographic book. Your book was SOOOO helpful.. everything I could possibly need to know or could think about asking you answered. You gave soo much info on feeding and health. I want to thank you so much. I like you purchased a sugar glider.. and have had him for the past month alone I have ordered another one and should be getting her within the week.. I cant wait.. my lil man is soooooo loveable . Sugar Gliders are the perfect pet.. he comes with me everywhere.. and when I am home he is constantly on me... either sleeping or running around like I am his personal playground.. I would give your book 10 stars if it was possible..

I have almost every sugar glider book out & I can honestly say this is one of the best glider books to date. I really like the fact of having all of this information with me where ever I go, with it being on my smart phone. This book is very informative on every aspect of sugar gliders. I haven't caught anything Sandy left out yet. This book is laid out very well with easy to read font, color pictures, & it works perfect as an e-reader. Sandy you did an excellent job with this book. It comes highly recommended. Thanks again for your contribution to the glider community.

This book is wonderful! I purchased a sugar glider from Pocket Pets (regretably) 5 years ago. I love my glider, but wish I would have had this book beforehand. I would have realized what an awful company that is, and would have looked to get one from a rescue. In every chapter she explains common myths about gliders; everything that Pocket Pets tells customers is false, do NOT get a glider from them. If you have one now, and are still following their guidelines, you MUST get this book! I made a toy for my glider that the author tells you how to make, and she INSTANTLY started playing with it. She has great ideas for diets, cage setups, toys, etc. My only regret is that I didn't get this book sooner.

With all the misinformation online about sugar gliders I was very pleased to find a book with most/all of the information I need to know set up in such an easy to understand way. This should be mandatory reading for anyone looking to own a sugar glider.Will note though that some of the links in the kindle edition didn't seem to work for me - not a deal breaker.

This book assisted me greatly in understanding my gliders better. I am sure I will still refer to it many times.The info is clear and objective.Easy read with a lot of information.

Love it. Very informative

Although the book has plenty to read up on about sugar gliders I feel it would have pictures to go with the writing. I certainly don't think it was worth the money as I had to get a different book.

Good information for first time owners of gliders. Up to date info author seems well informed. It fills in voids of missing info in other books.
