Perfect fit with minimal build quality
Replaced this muffler with the same muffler after only 30,000 miles. The internals had worn through the skin from the inside out. Which sounds the same as rusting out even though there was no rust. The price is right to try it again and see if the next one holds up any longer.

2-1/4" on 2007 Chrysler T&C v6 3.8 AMS conversion minivan
Got the Thrush 17717 2-1/4" muffler installed on a 2007 Chrysler T&C v6 3.8 AMS conversion handicap minivan. You need a welder since it is not a bolt on item. Make sure the original muffler is same shape and size, offset inlet, centered outlet, and exhaust pipe is 2-1/4" and it will fit inside the inlet then you weld around the seam. This muffler is quiet but not silent. It does make enjoyable sound to the ear at all speeds. The van's performance has greatly improved with this muffler compared to the old rusted out leaky muffler. I would have never believed that having no muffler or a leaky old muffler would actually degrade the car's performance until experiencing the differences myself. Now I really feel sorry for people driving without the muffler. Not only is it bad for their ears, not appreciated by other people, their car probably runs bad and has loss of power. At under 50 bucks, this is a great buy. From outside It seems to be made well and solid. One thing I wish different is the inlet was mig welded all the way around instead of just spot welding the ring there. I definitely would recommend this muffler.

alot quieter then expected
I bought the thrush 17717 muffler for my 89 ford bronco fullsize with a 5.0 V8 and it was way too quiet. bolted in great but even with the catalytic converters removed it was quieter then just catalytic converters.this is not an aggressive muffler by any means nor does it sound like one. I did notice less back pressure then a stock exhaust. all i can say about it is its an alternative to a stock muffler without any chopping.

Great quality, perfect fit, and the wonderful tone Thrush is famous for
A high quality muffler and a perfect fit for my 97 4.0L Jeep Grand Cherokee. Paying just a few dollars more for the low resonant tone of a Thrush muffler is well worth it to me.

Better flow than stock, not too loud
Used this product to replace my 20 year muffler in my 94 Toyota Landcruiser. I wanted an inexpensive muffler with better flow than the original without being too loud. It flows a lot better than the original and has a nice sound, not much louder than stock.

Don't get for your Jeep.
Barely out of the 90 day warranty and it's bloating. Might be a good fit on other vehicles with lower output, but don't bother getting it for your Jeep.

fit perfect..
Well..first off it is made in U.S.A....fit perfect...I wanted a muffler with low restriction....no droning and it is indeed silent at 65-80 mph cruising and has that raspy///wake up the neighbors full throttle wail I wanted...Jeep 4.0 Cherokee....much better quality than expected...
