I bought this system as an improvement to a Lorex system that I have used for several years. The picture and resolution is much better than the Lorex system during the day, but at night the picture is almost useless. The phone app is pretty good, but does not offer much in the way of a secure password (only 6 characters allowed).I had the same problems with range that I had with the Lorex system, but at least with the Lorex system you could install antenna extension cables and high gain antennas. On this new version of the Smonet system, the antennas can not be changed out on the cameras or on the NVR. I guess I could install two four channel systems to reduce the range between the cameras and NVRs (worst signal was to a camera 75ft away), but I was trying to avoid having two systems load up my wifi.Tech support is good, but nothing they suggested worked for me including the wifi repeated they had me install.I guess my recommendation would be to buy a similar system, but one with detachable (screw on) antennas.

This is an amazing system! Everything out the box immediately connected with no issues. I did have to purchase the repeater for a camera that was located near the very end of the house, however once installed all cameras have been consistently streaming. Following are the things I like:1. Small size: very easy to place without drawing attention to the camera.2. Motion detection works amazingly! You can customize the sensitivity and the zone being covered. The area covered can range from the entire view of the camera screen down to a small square and all points in between.3. Night vision exceeded my expectations. I did not think the night vision was going to so clear.4. High Definition. The clarity of the video and screenshots exceeded my expectations.5. Able to take screenshots and/or videos from streaming cameras6. Able to access all cameras from phone and/or laptop7. When motion is detected, I get alerts to my phone along with the video clip8. The user interface is very comprehensive. You can tell this company is serious about their camera security system.9. As others have mentioned, the customer service is second to none, any question they will work to resolve.10. I don't have to pay a company to monitor and provide my video feeds.11. The camera system works independently of the internet. If the internet goes down, this system continues to work.If you are looking for a security camera system that is easy to install and provide powerful results, I highly recommend this system.

1 camera has already started having connection issues altogether and the signal to these cameras wont let you put them too far from the main box so alot of money for not alot of options to place cameras and crap signalAugust update all cameras come and go they will not stay continuously connected they are no further then 15 ft from the box5-19-2020 1 year later they are still crap night vision and have a circle as seen each camera is slowly starting to do it all communication done through email no help whatsoever app hardly ever wants to load tried recording motion only and it picks up everything no matter the setting

Received on time and started to set up very easy needed longer power cords and a few camera signals were not to great so I emailed customer support they hooked me up with longer power cables and a wi fi range extender. very awesome support and picture is great day and night. I love it

I purchased the 8 camera wireless system and the setup was simple. The picture quality is excellent. a few of the cameras reception was less than 100% and the picture would freeze up a little. I email their Tech Support and they sent me a link and product code to purchase a WiFi extender on Amazon and it only cost me 1 penny. I just received both extenders (the extender is only good for up to 4 cameras, so you will need a second one if you have 8 cameras like I do). I will write a follow up review after I set up the WiFi extender and see its results

I bought this product for a concrete building thats about 80 feet long and 2 floors. Even after getting Smonet wireless extender , the signal got slightly better but still a lot of skipped frames.Also the mobile app is super flaky , first they told me a app called IPPro , then IPPro3 , then EseeCloud and now Smonet. All apps keeps crashing in my IPhone XS.I hate giving 1-star for what could have a great product.Pros:Very Sturdy DesignVery good night vision.ConsBad wireless coverage especially with concrete buildings.App crashing.

Not able to see all screens the same size with a 8 camera system. Tech. Said it is defaulted to that..that sucks. Regret buying. it is hard to get in touch with customer service.

I was concerned about tech support since it is done from China but not to worry. I got tech support on a unit that I bought two years ago and it was great. I now have a 4 and an 8 camera system and they function just fine from all of my computers and smart phone. Buy it!
