Record player
It was good

It's inexpensive and seems to work okay.
I bought it so I could get and play old, out of print records. My use of turntables and record players goes back 60 years--this one reminds me of my first record player my parents bought me when I was 6. So I could take my little kids records in my room and "CLOSE THE DOOR!" The mechanisms are way more modern, the sound is stereo vs mono, and the stylus is surprisingly good. Does look a little old school, but the sound, even out of the speakers, is acceptable. I have a set of decent cordless earphones, they'll eventually get plugged in, so I don't disturb my 92 year old Mom who lives with me.I've had $300 turntables--the kind that only work if they're plugged into a system. This is only very tangentially related to those. But even my fancy old turntables from the 70's wore out, mechanisms broke, and stylists were expensive. If/when this one breaks, I'll recycle it and get something else. I don't expect that to happen soon, I really don't play much vinyl. But it's nice to have to listen to acquisitions for the used book place and from thrift shops & yard sales. I don't need fancy anymore.

Nice unit, easy to operate.
A very nice unit. The price was under half of what comparable models sell for. Its simplicity is elegant. Although it is a portable unit, its portability takes nothing away from its use as a permanent structure. I have been buying records I had as a child. Aaaaaaaah . . .such memories this unit has instilled on me. I have looked at many youtube videos of old records being played, and a lot of them use the exact same record player. Mine is teal, love the color. It even comes with the small record adapter. It has a lever for picking up and dropping the stylus. The record does not turn until the stylus is over the turntable. Sound quality is good, loud enough to hear it from another room. Listening to the old records my mother used to play for my brother and I more than 50 years ago takes me back to those carefree days, something I would not have done if I had needed to pay more for a record player.

An alright beginners record player with a few flaws
Where do I start with this record player. Firstly I want to get this out of the way but personally I love it, it is portable, it is fun to use, and it’s visually appealing. And as a note for those who wonder what it means when it states that it’s superior because of it having a Diamond stylus allow me to explain. Now there are three styluses, Ruby, Sapphire, and Diamond. A Ruby stylus lasts fifty hours, a Sapphire stylus lasts sixty five hours, and a Diamond stylus lasts one thousand hours. Now despite its promotion of having “better” sound quality it has that staticky hiss in the background on the quiet parts and it’s obvious it’s there depending on how loud your album is. And part of me wishes you could close the suit case while playing the vinyl inside it so dust doesn’t get on it. But if your on a really low budget I’d recommend this. It’s got a Diamond stylus and it can satisfy your needs, but it will likely collect dust because it doesn’t allow you to play with the suitcase closed so I’d recommend you’d have cleaning supplies for your records on hand if you plan on using this. Overall I’d give this 4/5

I would definitely recommend this if you are starting to collect Vinyl Records
I bought this back in 2019 because I wanted a record player and I didn't know if I would like it. I decided to get this one because if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have wasted money on a more expensive turntable I kept it for almost four years and just recently upgraded to a different record player. The sound quality on this is not bad, but it's not that great. However, it is a great starter if you are dipping your toes into the Vinyl Record world. I am not an expert on record collecting or turntables, but I would recommend purchasing something like this if you want to start your Vinyl journey.

Portable but CHEAPLY made
Had this since September 2021, and was using it frequently. I will say it was good while it lasted althought it did feel like I had to be extra gentle with it as it doesn't feel sturdy at all.Recently I moved this in another room and when I went to plug it in, the port for the power plug fell back into the case.I saw 4 screws on the corners of the table and though "yep easy enough fix"...I realize this is a cheapo portable player but I was a little surprised that it's literally all hot glued together under the table.Wires are not soldered and loosely connected and they is not enough slack to move the table to fix the wiring its a tight fit for larger hands.I took my time pushing the power port back through the hole and secured it with another nut but even after pushing it back through plugged it and something popped and now it's not working at all. Opened it back up and some diode was rattling around. Perhaps some of the halfway connected wires touched in the process and it's my own fault. It's passed my return window and I'll just chalk this up to remembering you get what you paid for. This is a cool little player but don't expect it to last.

Servicable record player, but don't expect great sound quality.
Comparing this to a turntable that's hooked up for a quality audio experience, is bound to end in disappointment.I managed to finagle a hook-up for this suitcase record player to my older sound system amp & speakers. Said setup was originally arranged for a cd player, a tape cassette player, and an AM/FM radio, but nothing else; it's unlikely that in 2006 they thought anybody would be wanting to add in a record player. But, I found a way to wire it in, nonetheless. Playing vinyls on it this way, with the player unit sound off and running the volume entirely through the amp, was much better.Perhaps in our present age of superior sound systems, even in vehicles, I've become spoilt. It's been a long time since I was listening to my albums on that Radio Shack player, but my memory of that sound experience convinces me that it was still better than what I'm getting from ByronStatics now. Oh well, they say you get what you pay for, and it certainly seems true in this case.Oh, how I wish I'd kept my old stereo system. Sigh.
