What is the non stick coating made of?

Appears to be cast iron with an aluminum looking coating. I seasoned it with cooking oil and it smelled horrible while heating, and still does each time I use it. The handle is very easy to bend when heating the griddle.

Is this good to make grilled cheese sandwiches
