The title and several places in the listing describe these as paper lanterns. Paper is listed as the only material. There is a paper tag hanging from the bottom. The lantern itself is plastic, similar to plastic shopping bags. I even went so far as to hold one up to a lit match, it did not burn, it began to melt (see near my finger in picture). I'll definitely have to order for Lunar New Year earlier next year, because if I had the time, I would have returned these. I hope everyone who receives one will at least re-use them for many years.

Some lanterns did not come with the sticky strips so it was not easy to assemble. There is an odd smell to the paper but once they are hung the smell is not noticeable. The paper is heavy tissue paper, such as the one used for gifting.

These are the cutest little land turns and are very easy to put together. I’ve already hung up a bunch of them and they are just so nice. It was a great buy and customer service was excellent

Quality is just ok but the result is stunning!

Perfect for my lunar new year celebration, easy to hang with removable clips and if you paperclip the sides instead of using the adhesive, they are reusable in years to come!

Purchased for a kids class on Chinese New Years, they enjoyed it!

One third of the lanterns are damaged, neither the top string or the bottom string.The bottom strings are damaged, they are no even fixable.
