We Are Family

Love that there are different ways to read & use this book. Read the story and look at all the different family panels. Follow just one family panel along the entire book and dig deeper into “what do you think is happening? How are they feeling? What can they do?” Even the inside covers are rich with illustrations of all sorts of interactions! Got it for my almost 3 year old who asks for “the family book” regularly.

Wonderful book. Well illustrated. High quality. Hard cover. My little niece loved it and her parents loved it even more! Lots to look at on each page. Wonderful art. Shows all different types of families: 2 dads, grandparents raising grandkids, etc. Beautiful ethnic diversity, too!

Wonderful book that can be used for many purposes - our son loved that there was an adoptive family that looked like ours and we went page by page and were able to say "we do that do!" to each picture of the adoptive family. A great find!

My one son loves pointing to all the dad figures and calling them, “Dada.” I love how diverse this book in how they portray different families and what they could look like. I have a feeling this book will be a family favorite for awhile!

I really like this book. It provides great photos of diverse types of families. Great message. I would certainly recommend this for bedtime readings.

We checked this book out from the library and my 3 year old loved it. I bought him a copy for Christmas and we read it at least once a week. He loves going through the pictures and asking questions about the different families. We love to look at the pictures and try to guess what is going on. One of the pictures of a child caring for his sick father, prompted my son, to look at his father, and thank him for taking care him while he was sick. It's really a beautiful book showing the many types of families there are. The ONLY thing I would change would be to make some of the families have different body types. That way it is even more relatable to all families.

What a gorgeous book. I find comfort in being reminded of how every family is normal.. and really love sharing the book with my daughter.

I was so excited for this book, full of beautifully diverse families and the brilliant pictures in soothing warm tones. However, the book arrived irreparably damaged and I have to return it! Was hoping to use it as an Adoption Day present.

The idea of different types of families is a good one but there are too many illustrations oneach page. It's hard to focus on the message as you look at the illustrations ofevery family described.
