Guess I'm not a fan of aluminum: heavy, slow, about as big & crooked as wood...
...probably better suited for Green Arrow cosplay costumes than actual archery.I learned archery with a compound bow and aluminum arrows in the mid 80's. Recently I took it up again, for my nieces kids, who have been learning with traditional bows, starting with a 25lb twin (snake) bow, and moving up to 30-45lb Turkish fiberglass and wood composite and laminated Chinese bows so far. I was looking for something a bit heavier for shooting the 45lb at longer distances and honestly didn't even notice that these were aluminum when I ordered. Not that that would have deterred me, as I had no problems with aluminum arrows prior to getting these.Maybe I've just been spoiled by the blissful consistency and accuracy of carbon fiber, but I have yet to figure out the appeal of aluminum arrows in a world of seemingly much superior carbon fiber today. Or maybe, as with wood (at least the non-bamboo types) you have to spend a good deal more to get comparable quality to even the cheapest of carbon fiber. After all, these do seem heavier than the last aluminum arrows I bought in the 80's. I imagine there's a benefit to aluminum, but these will soon be relegated to decoration or maybe even starting gas burns from a safe distance. Unless we decide to invest over half as much in an aluminum arrow straightener, to return the bent ones to decent form. The feathers are great. They're applied well enough to survive having to push or pull an arrow all the way through a straw bale, when it finds a crack and goes deeper than usual. The tips are extremely pointy, but don't seem to penetrate any better than less sharp designs - possibly due to the slowness of flight. The tips look cool, but if you do intend on using them as a costume piece, blunting the tips might be in order, as these are bound to prick even a leather quiver after awhile. The threading, inside the shafts I believe, wasn't the most precise, requiring a pair of pliers on half the arrows we received just to install. Once installed the first time though, they go in and out easily, necessitating a drop of Blue Loctite in fact, if you don't feel like retightening the tips after every flight.Subjectively speaking, the glossy black finish just makes the arrows look cheap to me, like some company was trying to capitalize on Warner/DCs TV series. I even scratched the paint on one just to verify it was the original paint, and that they weren't refurbished, as, when rolling them, I noted some of the arrows were already as crooked as solid (non-bamboo) wood arrows right out of the box. Only, you can straighten wood by hand. They make a special, seemingly overpriced device for straightening aluminum. I don't think I'm going to buy aluminum again after these. As, I don't know if I missed it in my initial inspection or if a couple have already bent rather drastically, just from shooting into bales of straw.Between carbon fiber and two different types of wood, these are the worst grouping arrows we own. They're about the same diameter as solid (unspecified wood type) wood arrows, but heavier and. The nocks are pretty good too, but that's about the last of the positive comment I have for the arrows. Maybe I've just forgotten too much over the years, but I expected straighter shafts. But, even if they came that way from the factory, they have already shown they won't stay that way for long, even just shooting into soft targets. Live and learn. We'll stick with carbon fiber, and possibly bamboo, where accuracy is the goal in the future.

Perfect for Recurve or Compound bows without anything but basic rests. Can't use with Whisker Biscuit or Hostage type of Rests.
The product is as described so I can't fault anyone for that. I did learn however that if you're using an arrow rest like a Whisker Biscuit or a Hostage, you cannot use these arrows because they will cause damage to the fletchings since the Noch does not turn to adjust for the orientation of the cock feather (the odd color feather). Also Whisker Biscuits will rip the feathers out so you must use plastic veins if using one. We ended up using these arrows with our Recurves and/or our Genesis compound bows without anything but the basic rests. They work perfectly for that and as it turns out, our son has a 31" draw length when using the Recurve so these were quite necessary when we discovered that.

Nice arrows
I just received the arrows and based on first impression, they seem to be very good quality. They were packaged securely and appear to be very straight. I haven't shot them yet, but I expect they will perform well.

The extra 2 inches let me really yoke back on these and rifle them. helical flight is kinda cool.
