Great EDC knife and yes it is easy to USE!!
Ok, first of all, I am right-handed with greater than avg strength in that hand. I can easily open up this knife with just my thumb and I can close it with the same hand with little effort. Now when I try with my left hand (avg str only)... this time it was a lot harder - but using both my thumb and my first index finger (trigger finger)... I am able to deploy the blade. I state of this due to some reviews saying that the knife is defective or something... it works great. It is solidly designed. Blade is sharp as all get out. The blade end in a frickin sharp point --- be careful!! This is a no-brainer every-day carry (EDC) knife. It is even light enough to put in your shirt pocket without weighing it down. It is a beautiful knife... satin blade with stainless steel handles. It is well worth the price!!

Opening this knife is all about technique...
I don't normally review products, but after reading the reviews of this knife, and having it in my hands, I felt like I had to share my solution to the "Easy vs Hard to Open" question.I'm a big guy, strong hands, and I didn't anticipate having any problems opening this knife--especially not with the "Outburst" assist. When I received the knife, I was surprised to find that wasn't the case. I couldn't open it at all and I was tearing up my fingertips trying.I read and re-read all the reviews and was confused that roughly equal numbers of folks were saying exactly the opposite thing: "It's so easy to open!". "This knife just won't open!" Then it occurred to me: If two groups of people are reporting the opposite behavior from the same item, there must be some ergonomic confusion on how to operate it. (I won't go into detail, but that conclusion comes from relevant professional experience and training.)So, I YouTubed it extensively, studied the mechanics of the knife, and discovered the solution which allows me to easily open the knife with either hand. (Surprisingly, I can open it easier with my left hand than my right). Here's what I discovered (two things):1) It takes practice, but you *have* to avoid placing any pressure whatsoever on the frame lock in the handle when you're trying to deploy the blade. If you've got a death grip on the knife while you're trying to flip it open, it'll never happen. Admittedly, the ergonomics surrounding this item aren't the best, but once you discover the proper grip and burn it into your muscle memory, it's something you won't ever think about again.2) You have to curl your forefinger and thumb and use the *back* of your fingernails against the flipper, pushing out and *up at about a 30 degree angle* to extend the blade. (If you use your fingertips you'll just end up with sore fingers and a closed knife.) When you get this, back of the fingernail, out and up motion right, the blade will pop out shockingly fast with almost no effort at all.So, pinch your fingers together like you're trying to pluck a hair off your shirt. Push out and slightly up against both flippers using the back of your fingernails while avoiding placing any pressure on the frame lock. Don't force it--you won't have to. When you get it right, *POW*, it'll pop out so fast you won't know what happened. (It would help if there were a little more space between the first finger groove and the flippers, but now that I've discovered and practiced the technique, I don't even notice the ergonomic shortcomings.)Hope this helps.

Superb quality for the low cost. If you can't figure out how to open it, look it up, don't blame it on the workmanship because you were outsmarted by a spring assist. It is a bit stiff at first and requires a certain technique (don't squeeze the handle, give it a gentle touch), but once its broken in a little I think you'll find its a robust and useful little knife. On the other hand, the pocket clip isn't that good, it broke off on mine. Works great for a bottle opener though. The rest of it stands up to abuse shockingly well; in terms of durability, sharpness, and utility, it holds its own against knifes that are easily five times the cost, and the needle point is guaranteed to make others envious. If you want to show off, get a hair trigger, indestructible $300 laser cut knife that can chop a log in half. If it's utility you're after, this is a dirt cheap knife with truly excellent quality; use it, abuse it, replace it for cheap if you lose it. Mine lives in my pocket, this is a great EDC knife.

Easily a 5 star purchase! *AMENDED*
I had gotten a different, more expensive knife and lost it a week later. I had liked this knife but was steered away by the reviews so I got a different knife that was twice the price. After losing the other though I needed a knife but couldnt stomach paying so much again so I rolled the dice on this one.I am actually GLAD that I lost my other knife! I am so happy that I went with this knife despite the negative reviews. I have been more than pleased with this knife. It is well built and functions very well. Love the shape of the blade and the assisted open works great.*UPDATE*So, I hate to do this, but the knife broke. I wasn't using it heavily either, and have not since I purchased it almost 2 years ago. The spring snapped and it ended up cutting me when I went to grab it. After the spring broke the knife wouldn't be completely hidden when closed. I don't know if this was just bad luck, or if something that I did caused the break, but in my mind a knife needs to be tough and good for EDC to get 5 stars, so I've amended it to 4. Still a beautiful knife, and you might not have my issues. If so, it's easily a 5 star knife. Just be mindful that your mileage may vary.

Assisted opening is a plus
Nice everyday carry knife. Once you learn to push straight forward on the Thumb Stud it opens easily.Very sharp and well crafted.

More than just a letter opener.
Boyyyy do I love this knife. I love it so much I actually bought it twice.I know it’s a personally preference, but I love the shape of this thing. I really like the angle that comes to a point and how it fits my hand so well. I love this silver or not silver color.I’ve never had an issue with the locking mechanism or the clip coming loose. It is pretty low profile you’ll hardly remember yet rarely forget it’s in your pocket. Shank, I love when I forget I have it in my pocket and feel naked when I reach for it and irs not there. It’s definitely sharp enough, but I do wish it held its sharpness a little longer. If I’m being honest, I actually think I misplaced it….no it was probably stolen. I guess I’ll get it a third time this Christmas.

Espectacular
