Dad has a project sprite that needs a full restoration, so I bought this for him for Christmas thinking it would be useful.This is the most comprehensive automobile book that I have ever read. Haynes has nothing on this manual. Full maintenence gambit from electrical, to frame restoration, body panel fabrication, welding techniques (although they're all oxy-acetaline, not MIG), engine rebuild, suspension maintenance, wheel alignment, transmission maintenece. Figures are hand-drawn with high contrast and are easiliy interpreted, unlike the haynes manuals which use B&W photos that can be hard to see. Everything you'll ever need to know about maintaining and/or restoring a sprite.If you own a sprite, then you owe it to yourself to get this manual to maintain this iconic british sports car.

If you have a Mk I Sprite, you need this manual. It's the best and most detailed repair and maintenance manual for the Bugeye that I've seen. It has very handy illustrations, lists of recommended lubricants and tools and detailed information on pretty much all aspects of the Bugeye. It also has a detailed maintenance schedule.Is it pricey? Yes. But quite worth it.

The manual itself is fine. It is lacking key details that are supplemented well with the Haynes MG Midget Sprite Repair manual. This manual was not sufficiently detailed for the shade tree mechanic. Conversely, the Haynes manual also was inadequate in some respects. I actually purchased both and found that between the two I had the references needed to execute the repairs needed. Neither manual had enough detail alone to remove and replace rear axles, brakes, and differential.

I have the Haynes and I like this one much better. The drawn illustrations are amazingly precise and clear. Quite superior to the Haynes black and white grainy photos. The descriptive language is well written and specific to the Sprite while Haynes is often general purpose generic. I'm a bugeye owner and this is a "must have" manual.

Nice new print of the old manual. I wish I had this when I restored my sprite 20 yrs ago.

Excellent coverage of the technical info needed to restore the car. Even shows all the body panels exploded so you can identify how they can be welded back together.
