I bought this for my son who is in love with all things that glow at night and fire! I liked this gift as it is heatless. However, a few issues, I wish it made a fire noise, I ended up buying a fire noise maker to put behind this fireplace to make it more real. And when I got it, it didn't work. I ended up opening it up and saw that one of the leads from the battery casing had become detached from the part that made the "fire". So since Christmas is close and I am afraid if I return this for a replacement, I won't have it in time, we are going to buy a soldering gun and fix it ourselves. I really think our 8-year-old will love this, it's bigger than I thought it would be (I did read the dimensions before buying). I think this is going to be a well-used gift over the next few years! I do think I overpaid a bit for this item as it was broken, and it is made of very cheap materials, especially when I opened it up and saw the "fire" It could break very easily. All in all, if you are looking for a neat fireplace gift for your child I would see if you find one similar but cheaper and I hope you already own a soldering gun!

Had to take it apart to fix it because the rod that turns to make the flame effect was brushing against the inside. The end of the rod wasn't attached to a proper piece. It was just wrapped around a wire.

The media could not be loaded.  The function looks much better than I expected. Day one. Yet to see how well timer functions and longevity but I’m really enjoying it right out of the box.

I bought the fireplace for myself and everything was perfect on it, I loved it so much I ordered one for a lady friend for Christmas who lives in my senior complex since we dont have real fireplaces here,. I knew she would love it too.But when the second one came a piece of the right corner was just hanging on by a thread...But I live on a very low Social Security income and was not going to pay the postage to return it & dont drive anymore so I didnt want to go thru all the hassle of returning it and since the fireplace & the timer worked, I just glued the piece back on.I'm keeping the one that was broken. and giving the first one I bought to the lady friend....But it is cute, and so far works good.I just wished it hadnt been broken on the corner.The Company contacted me after seeing my review and told me they would be sending me a new one,,,Which I thought that was the right thing to do..... and they did, they are a wonderful company.....I would recomend if you want this little adorable fireplace there are other sellers selling it through Amazon but order it only from the seller....NINGBO YAKII INDUSTRIAL CO.LTDThey are the best and very honest.

The instructions that come with the little fireplace lantern are not the ones for this lantern. They tell you to insert three AAA batteries and they actually take 2C batteries. There’s also a part on the switch that has the word timer but there’s no little remote or way to set it so that doesn’t seem to be usable. One of the lanterns the flames flicker like it shows in the ad, the other one does not work, it is just a red light inside of the lantern with no movement. I have not inquired about returning it yet. They came very quickly and we’re very well packed, no damage, just the wrong instructions, no timer, and the flames don’t work on one of them.

It is a very attractive center piece for our living room. Works well and looks realistic. Silent operation and easy to use. It does eat C batteries, even when using the reliable Timer function.If it was manufactured to operate with AA batteries, it would be great.

The media could not be loaded.  Better than expected for the price quite bright too.You can hear some noise from it but once TV is on you don’t notice it at all.When I opened it wasn’t expecting much as looked a bit plasticky but gave it a go anyway and was pleasantly surprised it actually looks quite nice and gives the allusion of warm and cozy.

I love it - everyone who has seen it loves it, Not just for Christmas.

Cheap and cheerful! Adds a little 'romance' into a room, with a few candles burning and a glass of wine. Bliss. Lovely.

I bought this to put in my stove, when I am not lighting a real fire. It does the job perfectly and it is just the right size. Very happy
