World Class Shoe
Okay, these shoes may not be quite “World Class”, but they are certainly a way better performing shoe than what most of us would ever need. My previous cycling shoe was a mid-range pair of Bontragers with a full carbon sole and combination ratcheting and Velcro straps. The Fizik R3 Aria shoes are true to size, with exceptionally stiff, full carbon soles. My feet and shins were a bit sore after my first few 30+ mile rides, but I quickly adapted to the added stiffness and find the shoes extremely comfortable even on longer rides. I am generating a bit more wattage with these shoes, which is well worth the $200 price of admission. The BOA closure system is excellent, with a full-range of incremental adjustment for both the bottom and top closures. It is very easy to find the perfect combination of top and bottom tightness to ensure the most comfortable, secure fit. The closures are easy to loosen or tighten even while in the saddle. This is an incredibly helpful feature when your feet swell during long summer rides and the shoes need a bit of loosening. The stiffness, build quality, ventilation, and styling are those of road shoes that easily cost $100 more than the current price of the R3s. I have pedaled around 600 miles since purchasing these shoes and would absolutely buy them again. The leather is of excellent quality. It is difficult to tell from the picture, but part of the closure and the inside of the shoe are patent leather. The patent leather is a bit softer than the rest of the shoe and might prove to have durability issues over the long term. The patient letter on the inner part of the shoe are already showing some signs of wear.

Purchased to use with Peloton
I purchased these to replace my Peloton shoes I'd purchased for the bike. I realize it's a splurge for indoor cycling but my neighbor is a huge road cyclist and I hope to be able to join him on rides (seeing these shoes are LOOK and SPD compatible). That said, I could tell an INSTANT difference in transfer and power with these shoes in comparison to the peloton shoe. I spent some time researching the different brands (Giro, etc.) and I wanted a shoe with the BOA closure vs. a strap. That too makes a huge difference in the feel. I can pause mid-cycle and tighten or loosen with a twist. If you're looking for a good shoe to ride the Peloton with, no need to shop any further. This shoe is GREAT.

Lost feeling in toes for over 24 hours after ride
Going by the Fizik sizing chart widely available online, the 46 I ordered should be the right size for my US 12 feet. After my 130 mile ride yesterday I have lost feeling in my big toes on both feet. I sensed some discomfort after a 76 mile ride in the front of my foot. I had a bike shop adjust the cleat position and that helped. So I went on the big ride and while things were better discomfort was still present. However, after I got home I realized I couldn't feel anything in my toes. Blogs online say feeling will return but this may take days or weeks. 24 hours later I still can't feel a thing on part of each toe. Now I'm out $200 for shoes. I won't continue to wear these and risk permanent damage. But I can't return them outside the 30 day window. I won't be buying Fizik shoes again.

Great Shoe, Questionable fit
I love the shoe and how it adjusts. The BOA on this shoe uses a full strap rather than the bare wires at the top over your arch. My last pair of shoes had just wires, no strap, and it created a bad pressure point. The downside is that the top of the shoe is cut too high and digs into your ankle as you drive your heel down. I cut away a very small slice from the top of the "Tongue" (there isn't a typical tongue, the shoe just wraps over). I have high arches so maybe it is related to that. I found the shoe to run a little small. I wish the half size larger were available. But it works. this sounds like a negative review, but I do like the shoe and still choose to use it over my old shoe.

Love the look, not the fit
I ordered two Fizik shoes. The first pair (Fizik R1 Infinito size 40) fit and felt great but may have been a little long. I ordered the Aria R3 in a half size down (39.5) to see if the length or style was more ideal since the Infinitos are knit. I absolutely love the look of the Aria R3 and the length was perfect, but the toe box feels odd to me. I have very narrow feet so width isn't the isse. There is a strange bump on the inside toe box almost under my big toe. I don't know if all Aria R3's feel this way or if I got a strange pair but the bump is awkward.I read a lot of other reviews before purchasing and experienced what many others had. The tongue area of the shoe is extremely stiff. It cuts in to front tendon on of my ankle and is quite uncomfortable. Adding a small slit or cutting out a V shape of the material might solve the problem, but I really don't want to cut brand new cycling shoes. Unfortunately, I missed my return window. Maybe the material will loosen up over time. Who knows.

Sexy, comfy and stiff
Perfect fit, pretty boot. Took me 2 rides to figure out the fit. Love the Boa adjustability. Toe wrap hugs the feet without suffocating. Top wrap keeps foot against the sole. No heel slippage in sprint or climbing efforts. Plenty stiff and vented. Size 44 is consistent with Mavic, Shimano and Pearl. Because of the boa system it does seem it would accommodate wider or taller feet. The R3 has more room in the toe box than any of my other shoes. Speedplay Zero fit perfectly. This is now my favorite shoe.

Stiff and comfortable
US size 10.5D, bought EUR 43.5After years of Velcro and ratchet-style tensioned shoes I wanted to try the BOA system. I’m so glad I did, these shoes are amazing. Full carbon sole does NOT bend under load, yet my feet have stayed comfortable after several 3hr rides. The BOA cables hold securely and are very easy to adjust on the fly. I have not experienced hot spots. They are not wide shoes, and I suspect it would be possible to overtighten them enough to cause numbness after a long ride. Fizik recommends you try them on before attaching cleats, as they will not exchange them if there is any damage.I highly recommend these shoes.

Amazing shoes but make sure they sent you the right size.
Nice loking shoes, stiff and comfortable, the two boa allow precise and easy adjustment. The only negative point is that they sent me the wrong size.I didnt notice when I first tried them but went out for a litte ride and they seem more thight than those I tried at a local store.Back home I found that they sent me 44eu(10,75us) and I ordered 44,5eu (11us) I already put cleats on ,rode 60km and they fit my feet I love them I wont complain but make sure you double chek.

Great cycling shoes - fast delivery!
So far I have done a few rides on these shoes. They are comfortable and easy to adjust to the proper closure. The sole is stiff and transfers power well to the pedals. The material for the outer of the shoe scuffs very easily which I didn't expect. But outside of that they are awesome!

Very satisfied
Great fit...snug and precise. The dual boa system allows for a custom adjustment. The full carbon sole is plenty stiff and cleat mounting was very easy. I would not recommend the Aria r3 for wide feet but i certainly do for narrow to medium width ones. Overall, perfect to me. I usually wear 42, then i ordered 41,5 for a snug fit....good pick!
