I bought this shovel for a hiking trip in New Mexico. The aluminum handle makes it lighter to carry. First of all, it is really small, about the size of a hatchet. But that is why I got it because I didn’t want to carry a big one. The shovel itself is very sturdy and stood up to my 8 year old using the chopping edge to hit anything and everything from dead logs to rocks. The hatchet edge is actually useful, but it will need a good sharpening after the trip. The shovel head can be locked in a 90 degree position which makes for a great tool when prepping an area to set up a tent. It does not lock fully closed by the way. The compass on the end is not particularly good but might help in a moment of great need. The knife that is stored in the handle has a really good saw on it (like what you would see on a leather man). The cutting blade is fine although the knife is difficult to hold and is fixed to the handle using plastic. It seemed fine for light use or emergency situations. There is also quite a bit of storage in the handle if you wanted to add additional emergency supplies. It is a great shovel that will last a long time.

I had hoped this would replace my old folding army shovel, but it's about half the size. The other functions like the saw blade and hidden knife aren't all that useful if its primary use is as a shovel. The face of the shovel blade is about the size of a man's hand. In spite of this disappointment, I still give it 4 stars because it's well made, sturdy, and will probably survive much heavy use in the garden. I definitely have a place for it in the garden, I only wish the shovel blade had been as large as my broken army shovel.

It can be a hammer, an axe, a saw, a knife, and a bottle opener. Of course, this is a shovel. a compass at the bottom，A small saw and a sharp blade are hidden at the bottom. This size is perfect, and It can bea good defense weapon.Watch the photo, it's cut steel nails easily.

This product is well represented. It’s dimensions are clear.I love the size and weight of the shovel as I don’t want to carry anything bigger.When I got it the first thing I did was test it. It’s good for digging and as a hoe. I also bought it because my hand trowel, cat hole digging, sometimes just isn’t enough because of rocks and roots.As with any product if you make up your mind what it is without reading a description you will be disappointed. That poor choice is in you so don’t write crappy reviews.

Will have to update this review after this summer but for now I will say wow this thing is super small and lightweight, it did come with a case, thank God cause this thing is sharp mostly the saw teeth I can sharpen the rest if I need to. I have another folding shovel and it is nowhere near as tight as this one, my other is always rattling and is 3 times the weight and double the size. If you are a hiker or survivalist like me, this is the perfect shovel.

I cut my thumb removing the plastic! I didn't think it would be so sharp. I took it to the snow over the weekend, its lightweight and versatile.

I like this multi-function shovel very much. It can be used as shovel, hoe and ax for gardening and camping. And the quality is very good, the appearance is beautiful, is a master design.
