Another good Barrington novel.
Carnal Curiosity is another chapter in the fascinating life of Stone Barrington and, personally, i feel like this is about as much as a "callback" to Stone's earlier life as Stuart could possibly do.What I liked1. Stone actually does some of the same stuff he used to do as a detective. I'm not a hater of "the rich and powerful Stone" but it's nice to see him call back some of those intimidation tactics and such from his cop days.2. The story in this one is actually pretty good. A little more mystery than many of Woods' more recent Stone books. Of course, it's fairly obvious who the criminal is but finding the evidence to prove it feels like a callback to the "Stone was a cop" days. What I disliked1. Stone's ridiculous luck. A part of an armed robbery and didn't even take a gun-handle to the noggin.2. Also, Stone's women for this particular book really didn't try all too hard.Overall, not a bad book. I would read it again and my nit picks are small issues and not things that ruin the book.

An enjoyable read, but ...
... a thought occurred that all the books that are coming out this year with Stone, of which I believe there are four, could have been one, maybe two, bigger books instead of broken down into four? You can tell by looking at the cover art where the next one is going. It doesn't mean that I will cancel my pre-order. I still very much enjoy Mr. Woods books and I look forward to each one (unlike James Patterson who I have given up on all together). Predictable as some say? Yes. Fast read? Yes, but aren't they all. Fun read? Yes!While I enjoy Stone, I would love to see some of the other series get another chapter. Like with Holly. Granted she is not in Orchid Beach anymore, but her adventures in her position with the government would be fun. Ed Eagle? Maybe not so much. Rick Barron? I loved the setting of old time Hollywood (one of my favorite authors was the late Stuart Kaminsky's Toby Peter's books).Keep up the good work, Mr. Woods. Thank you for the adventure and keep them coming.

Stuart Woods weaves a good tale and is an easy, comfortable read. I have told him in the past that he has no idea how to write about sex and should either learn from one of the female masters or just leave it alone. I find it odd that he tries to make Stone Barrington look so classy when it comes to his lifestyle, but talks so crudely about making love. In fact, he never uses the term "making love" at all. He is constantly dropping the F bomb instead and seems to like his women lewd and crude.. It knocks him down a peg in my book. Since his audience is more female than male, he could stand some improvement in this area.

I LOVE Stuart Woods!
Stuart Woods is a very prolific writer, and I believe I have read most of his work. He always drags me right into the story, allows me to believe "aha! This time I see exactly where we're going, and THIS TIME I already know how it's going to end". Nope he stills turns it around on me and when it closes I'm always asking myself "now why didn't I see that coming? He got me again!"Once again, he got me with Carnal Curiousity. A Stone Barrington novel (my favorit) and I read it straight through missing another nights sleep in the pursuit of reaching the conclusion smug in my knowledge that I knew what was coming, and thrilled with the unforseen conclusion. Darn you, Mr. Woods, I'll get you next time!

Woods is a winnerI
I liked the book...it is typical Stone material but always with a little twist of new. As the story progresses in gets you hooked and moves along with anticipation as to how this will all pan out. Stuart's writings are mostly for the romantic soul who likes a little mystery with a few speed bumps. I have read mostly all Woods's novels and just recently went back to one of his first books "Chiefs". What a great read that works through three generations of the "Lee" family. You won't be disappointed if you care to go back to the hard times in the earlier American struggles and corruption in Delano when Roosevelt was around. Also has a little serial killer stuff to keep you on edge.

Typical Stone Barrington Plot
I keep reading all Stuart Woods novels, and apparently I enjoy them. I am a little sick of the teen-age boy dream "sex" of Stone Barrington. I sure hope he keeps a supply of penicillin handy. He hops into bed with a total stranger in the first few pages of the book. This bed hopping is going to get to him. Viagra will be next for him. Anyway-- all the usual characters are in the book. I did have to stretch my brain to remember one of the couples-- but Woods does a pretty good job referencing their past. I will keep on reading his books and recommending them to my friends. I've got he next ones on pre-order. He may be pumping them out too fast.

Always good
Iโd like to see if he could write a scene that doesnโt involve drinking. Thatโs all they do. But I do enjoy all his books.

Carnal curiosity
I have read all of the Stone Barrington books. I enjoyed the book but the new characters, Bill, Anita, Crane and even Ann were not as interesting as some of the previous characters in Mr. Woods books. I kept waiting for the usual shocking revelation of a thing but it never came. I'd also just once like to see Mr. Stone seduce a woman, whoo her. It's unrealistic to me how two nearly total strangers can hop into bed so quickly. I work in the medical field as well as the legal field and have never seen this, perhaps I hang with the wrong people and attend the wrong parties and conventions. I strongly suggest Mr. Barrington get frequently checked for STD`s though.lol

The first 60 to 80 , or so, pages were quite boring and mundane and some of the reviews made about this novel were coming back to me with a vengeance! However, the storyline started to get relatively interesting then and the rest of the book went along like a breeze. I'm currently reading an historical novel by Bernard Cornwell, which is about 500 pages in all, and if you compare that with this novel's font, spacing and presentation the end result would make about 250 pages (of a Bernard Cornwell novel).......and that doesn't seem like good value! Perhaps Stuart is also catering for those with sight issues!

Carnal Curiosity
I have long been a fan of Stuart Woods but found this novel disappointing. There was too much sex , too many facile solutions and no real mystery.
