Heat for emergency light
These are being used with White Kerosene in straw jars bought at Dollar General. The fit perfectly in the silicone straw grommet.

Hard to control flame height
The fiberglass wicks are not easily controlled. With the wick less than 1/16" above the top of the tube, it stil created a 3-4" flame that created smoke. For outdoor use, this would be perfectly fine....for indoor use, I suggest finding something else.
