Q: We have huge dogs this could get expensive for bags how large are the bags and can you use standard trash bags?

The bags are just about the same size you find at grocery stores. I think a trash bag would be too large and awkward. The bag scooper is great and so are the bags. Recycle your plastic grocery bags and your cost would be zero even if you use two or three a day!

Q: We live in a hot, humid and rainy climate here in New Orleans. Does the metal rust?

It’s not metal, it’s plastic! And I have had mine for about 3 years, it works great, I go out every morning and wait till my 3 are done and scoop and stand it in the corner of the yard against a tree and empty about twice a week! It works great even with store plastic bags, I put three bags on so all I have to do is remove one at a time. It would s so worth it just so I don’t have to bend over to pick up waste.

Q: can u use regular dog bags, the kind you bring on walks?????

No... those small bags that you bring on walks are too small... I used plastic grocery bags when they were available ... have also purchased black bags online that are the same as the grocery bags and they work perfectly well... this pooper scooper is great, I have two but beware the teeth on the rake can break easily but still can use it with no teeth to push stuff into pail.

Q: Will grocery store bags fit the collector?

Yes. They will not be as snug but they will absolutely work with our collector.
