Not a true PB6
I have been thinking about building my own arcade machine for my basement. After reading about RetroPie and other projects, I thought I would use this as a starter kit to use as a baseline. The good:Shipping was fast.Buttons and sticks are fine.Favorites feature is nice.Hide feature is nice. Though it will take me a year to hide the 90% of the games that are total junk. The bad:- The 8-way joystick is no good for 4-way games, such as Pac-Man. It would be nice if it were 8-way/4-way switchable.- Missing some good games! I studied Pandora's boxes and the included games. Since most of these boxes have 900 or 1300 games, I thought a big number like 2,020 games would have ALL of the old classics I remember. But it is missing some of the Atari classics like Asteroids, Defender, Xevious and Centipede. Xevious is actually there, just under some funky name. I would also have expected nearly all of the SNES games since they are PD now.- Duplicated and nonsense games. There are about 8 versions of Pac-Man and Miss Pac-Man. All but a couple of them (the actual originals) are terrible knock-offs. And the real ones are misspelled (PuckMan?). There must be about 600 "street fighter" style games. How many of those are necessary, really? I think it would be better to have 5-600 games that are truly the original versions, and/or well-screened.- Can't add games! I looked into adding games. If it were a real PB6+, I could locate and remove the SD card, play with the files and get some different roms. I found where the SD card should be. I took a razor blade to the housing, totally prepared to throw it away if I broke it. About 3 pieces flew off and there was no SD card in there. Luckily(?) it still worked. I then looked into putting roms on a USB stick and seeing if they would be recognized. I haven't figured that out yet, and probably won't put more time into studying it. I just think these should always come open-ended with some instructions on how to add roms. Instead they seem to have intentionally locked it down.- This is good and bad I guess. They seemed to do a decent job of batching similar games together. After you scroll through the 500 or so street fighter type games, you get into 1-200 top-view airplane shooters. It would be better to have a "tree" menu system, so you can quickly go to a type of game. The favorites feature allows you to pop a few of them to the top, though.I will probably hide all but about 20-30 misspelled games that are actually enjoyable, build my arcade cabinet with some of these pieces, and eventually replace the guts with a RetroPie so that I can add games and true it up.

Best gift for my husband
I gave this to my husband and he absolutely loves it!! He invites his friends all the time to play it with him and it really does have lots of games on it and all from the 90s!! So fun.

Hardware good...software ok, but cant download more games as advertised
The good...hardware (buttons, joystick, case, etc) looks and feels great. The plug and play aspect is spot on, default settings allow the user to play it moments out of the box. Price seems appropriate for what you get.The bad... i was excited anout the 2400 games; however I was not expecting 5 or 6 versions of each game (depending on the console). It is missing several classic games that i would have expected given the number of games. The primary reason for the 3 stars is the lack of ability to download more games. The descriptions in the product leads you believe that the user can download 2D games...which would have made up for the missing games I mentioned above, but you cant (or at least ive been unable to do it) any suggestions by users or manufacturer would be appreciated.

It’s an ok console . I don’t recommend. Laggy and can’t install games.
Got this console for Christmas. I picked it after reading the description and some reviews. It’s ok not great. It’s really laggy at times especially when playing two players. Almost unplayable. Not good enough to show off to my friends. Cannot install games via usb. The system will not read usb thumb drive and there are no instructions on how to do it. I’m pretty tech savvy and have not been able to figure it out. I would not recommend to buy one based on my experience and I’m pretty lenient if and when I review.
