The Magic of Tahini: Vegan recipes enriched with sweet & nutty sesame seed paste

I love Tahini but beyond the odd dressing, drink or or course hummus I have not really been that creative with it. So naturally when I saw a WHOLE book on the ingredient, I was curious enough to go ahead and make the purchase and I am glad I did.It's a real nice, compact size book dedicated to all things Tahini. It begins of course with a guide to making your own which was remarkably more simple than I could have imagined and a nice way to have it on hand cheaply and free of unnecessary other ingredients such as preservatives. From there it is divided into 5 main chapters: Snacks and Soups; Drinks and Sweet Treats, Mains and Sides, Bakes and Desserts and Sauces and Dressings.There are some great and may I say unique recipes in this book which is why I love it, as a collector of vegan cookbooks, I often find them to get repetitive in terms of recipes so its nice to find some unique dishes. They are also very easy to make and free of complex ingredients and preparation. The only "different" ingredient I did see over and over again was 'bourbon vanilla power" which is used in several dishes and I did find on Amazon but I am not sure I want to commit $40 for it though I am sure regular vanilla powder will work almost as wellI really like some of the sauces and dressings as I am trying to make a concerted effort to stay away from store bought versions and that becomes easy with the basic Tahini sauce, Tahini and cashew ranch dressing, Sweet and Sour sauce and carrot and ginger which is delicious There are some Tahini takes on sushi, Pad Thai, and some very interesting mashes which would be great for fall and winter. There are a plethora of great desserts and Tahini is a great option to add a richness with health benefits which is why it also lends well to the soups.This is a great book full of simple, easy recipes , each incorporating Tahini in some way , shape or form. The book is full of photos too which helps when making the dishes.Glad I made the purchase.
