Never got it to read off of anyone. Gave me ambient room temp but never a body temp and yes I had it on the right setting. Tried for sometime was excited to use it while my baby was sleeping but never worked. Sent it back

I bought this thinking it would be easy to use and no need to touch the 'patient'. But, it is difficult to set up. It has directions for calibrating it and they are easy to follow but how do you know your calibration is correct? I wasn't comfortable using this as I wasn't sure I could rely on the readings it gave us. So, we tossed it. Maybe a more expensive model would be better? I just decided to get another ear read thermometer.

It works very good. It arrived quickly and it is pretty accurate in comparison to the thermometer under the tongue. I would purchase again.

I compared it for awhile to the one being used in the facility and it's spot on, pretty accurate.
