Some reviews seemed to imply this trash can didn't open as it was designed to do, but we find it opens with no trouble. In fact, it sometimes opens just because someone walks by. We put a small bit of masking tape over half of the sensors to calm it down a bit. A bit pricey, but about as classy as a trash can gets. We've had it for a couple months. It will be interesting to see how long a set of batteries lasts.

This is probably the fanciest garbage can I have ever had. It has a motion sensor the detects you hand when it is above it and it works really well. It is easy to use. It does take size D batteries and does not come with the AC power supply. You can buy that separately which I probably will. It is easy to use and a good addition to my home.

We moved and needed new trash can as our old ones were located under counters inside cabinets. Purchased one and it worked well. Purchased second for recycle. Due to location walking by them makes lid open so we are looking at other locations. Trash cans seem to hold more than our old ones which is nice. Working out well.

This was the bee's knees for a couple months until the motion technology stopped noticing my hand. It blinks and doesn't open the lid. I've tried resetting it but nothing. I don't mind opening the lid, I just like that hands free tech especially when I'm handling raw meat and need to toss the packaging.

I changed my original review. The product works as expected..so far. My main concern is when i tried to register the can, i was unable to. First tried online on my iMac. Nope. Then tried scannig QR code on phone from litature that came with the can. Nope. Finally tried calling during their busness hours. Nope. Menu just brings you to a full mailbox. Never had a seller on Amazon that was like this.UPDATE 11/11/2022: The can works better than I expected. It is over a year and the original batteries are still going. It opens a bit slower which is fine by me. I was expecting the batteries to last several months at best. The bag is unseen and secure. I never had the bag fall into the can. Besides the absence of customer service, this was a very good buy.

It works well. The only improvement needed is to extend the detection range so that you don't have to wave your hand so close. But it works okay.

The motion detection was too sensitive. The trash can was in an area where people walk by and it opened every time when people passed it. I returned it. Customer service was great, but they said that some people have complained about that before.

Great functionality! I love the back on/off button.

Elle est peut être trop basse pour ceux qui sont grands ou on des problèmes de dos! Sinon... Elle fonctionne sur les même piles (2 X D) depuis 2 mois maintenant... Il y a un adapteur mural, mais... Les piles semblent durer longtemps pour l'instant!Elle contrôle très bien les odeurs!

Well my dogs like it. They no longer have to knock over the garbage to get into it. Now they can just put their nose by the sensor and it opens up for themLid doesn't lock to the base. Lid opens when laid on side.Golden doodle and Rottweiler both figured out how to open in within 2 hours.As dog proofing is your main reason for purchase, I'd pass. Please for the love of god, DON'T BUY THIS.TLDRExcessive condensation mixed with hiding places amongst the wiring inside of lid = fruit fly covered walls.I am a neat freak. I have a planner for organizing my house cleaning routing.The problem with this garbage is it's seal isn't the greatest.I figured no problem, I take out the garbage often.The condensation build up was quite excessive, no problem, just alcohol wipe it regularly.The reason why this occurs is because where the wiring is lined through the lid has many holes.So try as I may, cleaning this garbage does nothing when I can't access a crucial area where the eggs actually hide.

Best customer service ever! Unit is good now even though it arrived banged up by delivery service. New can sent out immediately after contacting them. Arrived in a few days. No issues with unit.

The lid opens constantly when you just walk by it. My can is only about a month old and has rust marks already. Don’t recommend it
